    Laos - Philippines 0-0 , played 10 mins

  9. Ott is not doing a good job on the midfield. He need to step up his game and be tougher.

  10. 15 mins , yellow card Borromeo

  11. 20 mins great save by Etheridge.. 0-0

  12. We were lucky there! If the ball werent too far away, it would be 1-0 to Laos.

  13. Shouldve been yellow card to James after seeing the replay.

  14. Laos score 1-0 !! was that goal ?

    ReplyDelete
  15. That is some poor defending!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No communication between the defenders at all. And where were the midfield? The midfield hasnt had a good game so far.

  16. Replay shows that it was inside.

  17. Actually a nice goal.

  18. 2-0 HT disappointing first half by Philippines

  19. We were caught on the counter-attack. the moves from both goals came from the right flank. Anton del Rosario was moving forward, leaving Gier and Borromeo exposed. Laos just too quick for us in the first half.
First goal on the 29th minute happened while Caligdong was getting treatment. twice Laos came close to doubling the lead until #10 struck that sweet volley. Really disappointing CEDELF

  20. Whats your opinion on the midfield? It doesnt seems to cope with the rest of the team. To me, theyre struggling on the midfield.

  21. Thanks Cedelf , Im watching the match at bet365.com

  22. We suffered when were down to 10 men wihtout Chiefy due to injury. And then the second goal when David Basa were not able to clear the cross of Laotian winger. He was like he's not in his element. I don't know if he's nervous or what but he has to defend much better than that. I knew it from the first game that our local players are liability of this team except for Chiefy and Ian. Our bench needs depth. Anyways, better luck in the second half. A come from behind win is still possible.

  23. I cant say that the foreign based players are doing such a better job than the locals. Central mid is struggling. James is whining. The left side has barely seen any play at all.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Right, Anton was moving forward too much that's why our right back is always caught off guard. It has been his habit ever since. Hay I hope coach Simon will bring that up to him in the dugout. As for the midfield, yes they're also struggling. I can't see the pace and ball control skills that Jason used to have two years ago. Manuel is not much being involved in the ball movement as well.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Yes there was nothing much action on our left wing. Jonsson needs to show his stuff. James is doing a pretty good job and I like it when he's getting physical.

What's the final score?? Someone told me it was 10-1.. Is it true?? No update yet here..

  27. Its 2-1. If football was fair Laos would have scored 3 more, at least. Still 15minutes left.

  28. It's 2-1
The Philippinesa are very close to a 2-2.
    Philippines plays very strong now.

A draw against Cambodia is enough to qualify for finals !

    ReplyDelete
  35. ill take that draw! wohooO!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Woohoo! Nice late goal by James! Now should I call it a come from behind draw. LOL

That was some match! Good to see them battling until the end...... which paid off big time! Good job to the team!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Crappy 1st half, good 2nd half. But we still gave Laos space and chances. We were lucky, but we got a draw. Good result.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Just witnessed a tremendous comeback by the Philippines. Almost lost my voice.

    ReplyDelete
  41. if cambodia and RP draw it means both would go in. unless Laos beats timor more than 5 goals.

    ReplyDelete
  42. phil should have win this game vs Laos if not because of the Laos GK + crossbar. 1st half was laos but 2nd half was all about the philippines. Best regards from Indonesia.

  43. i really like neil etheridge as our keeper. he has a good eye! great stuff! i also like how james younghusband has improved. and to think he was rejected by our former coach.... look at him now!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Putang ina mo HasThisBeenTaken!!!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Yeah, big chance that Laos will win big against Timor. They could easily scored 5 goals today if they had more luck.

    ReplyDelete
  46. @clockwork,

Who said he was rejected? They rejected the team.

    ReplyDelete
  47. thanks david80! we are very thrilled about our teams perfomance. disappointing first half but was a different team in the second half.

i agree.... our RB was weak. a lot of the attacks in the 2nd half came from there. needs to be addressed. what was Del Rosario thinking? hes pushing up cause he wants to score goals? the CB next to him should tell him to stay put when he thinks about floating off.

@ the anonymous person having a go at me...

The hell is your problem?!?! Just shut the fuck up!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Absolutely! Good thing we finally have a very decent keeper in Neil. Hopefully we can also tap Roland Müller;s service in the near future so that when one is unavailable hopefully the other one is available. Meaning no shortage of keepers. Plus Jerry Lucena, Simone Rota, Stephan Schröck, Satoshi Otomo, Kai Kasiguran, Denis Wolf and Joshua Alcala. Solid Philippine NT!

Haha! Clearly sour grapes to that one anonymous person! You know that you're wrong and you have no proper come back that's why you're so sour! Hah!

You seriously need to have a good look at yourself, because clearly you have issues!

  53. @clockworks,

Its not about scoring goals, its about giving your teammates multiple options, going 2 against 1 and so on. But there are times he should just hold back instead of going off all the time. if you didnt know, thats his playing style. he always leaves room no matter who they play.

    @Jan M.

The hell have I done now?? All I did in this topic was say that it was some match and it was nice to see the team battle until the end!!

I also asked you to join me, but you didn't! So shut up already!

    ReplyDelete
  58. I think Laos were unlucky to not have come out of that battle with all 3 points, but I'm so proud to have witnessed a great comeback from our NT!

I must say, James Younghusband has improved a lot from his performance in 2007. He's really been creating a lot of attacking opportunities for the team. Just my opinion, he's one of the best if not the best player so far for the Philippines this tournament.

When was the last time we drew with Laos? I can't even remember. While this wasn't a massive result (still big for me), it's definitely a step in the right direction!

Neil Etheridge also made a lot of good decisions. Dare I say that the two goals scored against him (especially that wonderful volley by Laos) weren't exactly his fault. And he had a frickin' assist too!

I'm excited for this Tuesday's game! I hope they win and leave nothing to chance.

    ReplyDelete
  59. James Younghusband also got his second yellow?

    Unggas ka pala eh!!

If you're really this easy to talk to, understanding type of person then you would know that all I've done was question certain claims and even try to keep people grounded because at times most of you get carried away with even the smallest of things! That's also when too much hype is created when there shouldn't be!

And instead of answering the questions that I put forward or when I say that you're getting a bit carried away with things like the FIFA ranking increase, you take it as a negative gesture or you consider it as bashing! When in fact, its not!

Like I've said before, oo lang kayo ng oo, at cge lang kayo ng cge, without putting a bit of thought or even explanation to what you've said or to what others have said. You're not thinking if what has been said is really right or if it's applicable, and that's when I've come in and questioned things. And again, instead of you answering it to make things simple, you get pissed off and you consider it as negative and/or as bashing! That's also why I get pissed!!
