Aboitiz Cup - Crazy Horse win

Crazy Horse opened its title-retention bid with a 4-0 routing of DBUFC in last weekend's resumption of the 13th Aboitiz Football Cup at the Aboitiz Sportsfield along the North Reclamation Area in Mandaue City.

The Men's League defending champions spent the whole match picking holes on the DBUFC's defense and never conceded a single goal to their opponents.

In the other match, the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) opened the tournament with a 12-1 annihilation of the DB Magone FC.

In the Men's Cup, the USPF Alumni continued to wreak havoc against its opponents by surviving Xantos FC, 2-1.

The University of San Jose Recoletos (USJ-R), on the other hand, had a successful opening match against DBUFC 1, whom they devastated 10-2.

In the Players 8, the Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) 1 , further extended its winning streak with a 4-2 edging of the Bright Academy.

DBTC 2, on the other hand, slowly climbed up the ranks with a 5-0 blanking of DBTC 3 while DBTC 4 executed a 9-0 routing of DBTC A.

The last match in the division saw DBTC C squeaking past DBTC B, 2-1.

In the Players 10, DBTC E continued to chalk up points with another win, this time against DBTC B, 8-1.

DBTC A slumped further in the bottom rung with another loss against DBTC D, 5-2, while Giuseppe FC enjoyed a 5-0 annihilation of Subangdaku Football Club (SFC).

Rounding up the winners in the division was Cebu International School (CIS) who edged Bright Academy, 3-1.

In the Boys 12, DBTC 1 and Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) padded their leads after winning their weekend assignments.

DBTC 1 shamed SJSM-3BROS, 17-0, while SHS-AdC dumped DBTC 2, 6-1.

In the Boys 14, MTI pads its winning points with an impressive 18-0 victory over the Don Bosco (DB) Boys Home while the DBTC 1 edged SHS-AdC, 2-1.

In the Girls 17, St. Theresa's College avenged its opening loss against SHS-AdC as their second meeting ended in a 1-all draw. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
