The Loyola Meralco Sparks and Kaya FC aim to boost their campaigns with victories in separate encounters in United Football League action Tuesday at the Emperador Stadium in Mckinley Hill in Taguig.
Loyola meets Pachanga Diliman FC at 5:15 p.m. while Kaya faces Green Archers United Globe at 7:30 p.m.
The Sparks, currently at third place with 23 points, look to score a victory to move up to the second spot in the League table.
But the task won’t be easy for Loyola, which barely won over Pachanga, 1-0, in their first meeting last February. Pachanga, which is tied with Kaya at 16 points, looks to solidify its grip at the solo fourth spot and slowly climb its way on top of the table.
Meanwhile, Kaya clashes with Green Archers in a rematch of one of the League’s most memorable matches this season, a game marred by a fight.
Last February, Kaya escaped with a 2-1 triumph over Green Archers in a match that turned ugly midway through the second half. Players from both sides then figured in a scuffle, with one even throwing a flying kick to an opponent which led to multiple ejections during the match.
A victory for Kaya will help the squad keep hold of the fourth spot and continue its recovery from a lethargic start for the season.
Now at eighth place with seven points to show, Green Archers, meanwhile, hopes to finally break its slump and gain some points to add some separation from the relegation zone.
AKTV starts live coverage at 5 p.m.
