Dynamic, Ceres nears semis
By Jerome Galunan Jr.
TALISAY CITY – Defending champion Dynamic Builders FC and runner-up Ceres FC had fortified their respective team standings as they move towards the semifinals on April 28 after beating separate opponents last Sunday in the ongoing 1st Conference of the North Football League played at the Ayala North pitch in Talisay City.
Dynamic FC veteran defender Jason Cordova converted an early penalty kick in the 3rd minute to book a 1-nil lead as attacking midfielder Jason Panhay scored a quick back-to-back goals in the 5th and 7th minutes to register a 3-nil advantage in less than 10 minutes of the game.
But Real Negrense FC tightened its defense, however, the team’s several offensive tries went far from target.
Mark Arandilla and Noel de Oca scored two more goals in the 63rd and 75th minutes to finally blank Real, 5-nil.
Meanwhile, Ceres FC also blasted Trimax-Agro FC, 10-1.
Archie Familiar stunned Trimaxi’s defense when he nailed Ceres’ first goal, off the pass from Joshua Fegidero, in less than a minute after the kick off.
Fegidero then doubled the scoreboard in the 17th minute to eventually close the break at 2-nil.
In the resumption of the second half, Fegidero scored his second goal in the 43rd minute as Dominque Segaya surprised himself and nailed his team’s fourth goal in the 46th minute. Segaya’s goal was actually intended as a cross pass to Familiar, who was then approaching the goal from the left flank.
Ceres’ scorers continued to sizzle as Fegidero shot his third goal in the 52nd minute while Janrick Soriano nailed a penalty in the 60th minute followed by Familiar’s second goal in the 63rd minute.
It was only in the 65th minute when Trimaxi-s forward Troy Fegidero successfully beaten his defender to send the ball past Ceres’ keeper Michael Casas.
But Paulo Deles joined the Ceres’ scoring spree as he nailed his team’s eight goal in the 67th minute while Arvin Villaruel scored two consecutive shots in the 72nd and 79th minutes.
In the other match, Renz Guevarra anchored Silver Dragon FC with two goals to keep Las Buenas FC winless in the league, 4-1./
