LOL.....nothing wrong with dreaming and setting a goal to reach....but to eye for a WC spot is a bit too high....they should become a force in SEA first
Their immediate goal is to beat Thailand, Iran, and Bangladesh. Beating Thailand would make them a force in SEA. Unlike the men's teams, SEA women's teams do have top 50 FIFA rankings including Thailand, Vietnam, and Myanmar. Iran is also a top 50 team. So if they do win their AFC qualifier, they would be ranked higher than many European, African, and South American teams. It would not surprise me to see a SEA team in the World Cup in Canada. I hope everything goes well for the Malditas because they do have the talent pool to beat Thailand. It remains to be seen whether they have the funding, luck, and organization to make the best use of that talent.
And by 2021 you will be dead. Lol. You know why? Because your negativity will get you killed. Negativity is the evidence of lack in initiative, vision, and the drive. You are a sheep that would rather be with his kind of the same level to be protected. You are afraid that one of the sheeps will leave you behind, which they will because you are weak, and you will get killed. Stop being a whimp @ 15:33. Hey, don't try to elevate your self and feel good about yourself by talking dismissively about others. If your life is shitty do something about it and don't drag others to to your level. Go Malditas!
so what you're basically saying is that they're crap??
and you think that locals would've won an award or two during the awards?!? lol!!! that overrated piece of shit caligdingdong, who was undeservingly nominated for aff player of the year didn't even win himself! in fact, he was the only filipino player that was nominated for an award! so i don't know what the hell you're on about!!
Awards don't matter in football. It is not a beauty pageant. Wins matter. The Malditas won their last tournament. The Azkals are winning as well. Something must be going right with the WNT and MNT. My guess is that there is a big improvement in the talent level of both teams. The WNT is a very different team from the squad that defeated Singapore 7-2 in their last international. Their victory at the L.A. Vikings Cup was with a much improved Malditas team against much better opposition. We'll have to wait and see who shows up with their Filipino passport in Bangladesh.
Big 5 in AFC Women's football, and as far as i know, these five teams have not been defeated in last 10 years by any other Asian teams in any tournaments. And the scoreline is usually not even close.
But there are two good news. First, as the number of teams expands from 16 to 24 in the 2015 WC, the AFC slots also increased from 3 to 5. Second, North Korea got banned in the next WC.
So, there is one open slot for any teams besides the big 5. And i'd say, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Taiwan are four favorites for the 5th slot.
As for the Malditas, well i don't really know. Though i do know we got many new recruits and all, we don't really have clues to gauge how much we improved. Anyway, everything will be decided after the match vs Thailand. Since only the group winner advances to the next round, if we lose, it's over, and if we win, not only it means we advance but we will have actual chance for the 5th slot as well cause, as said above, Thailand is one of the best teams besides the Asian big 5.
By the way, Iran is not strong at all. Their ranking is delusional cause they always win in the Middle East region and in Women's football, Middle East is a joke. Iran is nothing outside the region, and they actually get gang-banged when facing South East Asian teams. And Bangladesh? 10-nil possible.
I agree. If they tie and it comes down to goal difference God help Bangladesh as it could get ugly. This is a once in a generation chance for the Malditas to crack the top 5 qualifiers. It's too bad Puma won't support them.
Dream on! If you want something bad enough that you can taste it, the possibilities will go your way. It all starts with a dream, supported by proper planning, execution and a lot of heart.. Go for it Malditas!
