UNITED Football League champion Global FC is set to arrive today for its initial foray in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President’s Cup next week at the Cebu City Sports Center.
The team, which won the UFL title last year and currently sits at third place with 28 points going into the game against Green Archers United last night, will be in for a tough challenge.
The Dan Palami owned team will be taking on Dordoi FC of Kyrgyzstan, Yazdeen FC of Bhutan and KRL FC of Pakistan. The rest of the teams will arrive in Cebu this Sunday.
Dordoi FC is a six-time finalist and the defending champion, while Yazdeen FC and KRL FC are mainstays in the President’s Cup.
To boost its campaign, Global FC has acquired national team regulars Eduard Sacapano and Jason De Jong on loan from Philippine Army and Stallions FC, respectively.
They also signed Joshua Beloya and Turkish booter Koray Gunduzoglo.
