Global faces its toughest stretch of the season with two important matches
in the space of five days.
Global faces Stallion Sta. Lucia on Tuesday before heading to Singapore to
face S-League side Warriors FC in the first round of the Singapore Cup on
Saturday.
“It’s a tough game, Stallions, apart from their loss against us they have
been consistent,” said Brian Reid after training on Monday.
“If we win (over Stallion) it puts us back in a good position so we need to
make sure to focus and perform at a right level and with it get the
result.”
This match will be different for Reid as he now has a full squad at his
disposal and the result of tomorrow’s match will have a big impact on Global’s
title hopes. Stallion is currently on an eight game winning streak.
“This is a game that’s going to have a big bearing on who wins the
championship so we’re going to play to the highest level as we can,” said
Reid.
Izzo El Habbib returns to the starting eleven after missing last week due
to suspension.
“It’s good to have him available again, he scored the winner against
Stallions last time, and hopefully he can do it again for us,” said Reid,
referring to El Habbib.
The Scottish coach said they're focused on Stallion first before even
thinking about Saturday’s match in Singapore.
“We want to focus on Stallion for now. We have to take it one game at a
time and after tomorrow, then we can focus on Warriors, but for now we are
thinking of (the match against) Stallion only,” said Reid.
