MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Azkals will be taking on world 143rd ranked Kyrgyzstan in a friendly game as part of their preparations for the AFC Challenge Cup main draw next year.
The Azkals, who nabbed the top place in the Challenge Cup qualifiers Group E last March, will square off against Kyrgyzstan on June 8.
The game is expected to take place at the Spartak Stadium in Bishkek.
The Kyrgyzstan game will be one of the Azkals’ two assignments in June, as the Philippine squad was also lined up for a friendly against 151st ranked Hong Kong.
The Philippines recently earned a qualification to the Challenge Cup main draw by defeating Cambodia and Turkmenistan in Group E.
The Azkals, currently ranked No. 144th in the world, hope to win the main draw and barge into the 2015 Asian Cup.
