A STIFF competition awaits the men’s open of the 13th Cebu Interclub Football Tournament even if it will boil down to an all-Cebu club showdown.
The weeklong tournament that will fire off this Saturday usually gathers clubs outside Cebu to clash in the premier men’s open category but the competition looks to be more exciting with Cebu-based clubs in it.
From 10 clubs last year, there will be 12 clubs that will take part in the competition and half of the list are competition first-timers.
Leading the list is Cebu Queen City United, who may be more than qualified to be neophytes considering the team’s United Football League experience.
Other faces of the new teams are Danao FC, Don Bosco United FC and other clubs with foreign players in its core like University of Cebu – Nigeria, Cebu-Korea and Samba FC.
