CEBU Football Association’s chances still hanging in the balance after a 1-1 draw against Baguio Benguet Football Association yesterday in the Philippine Football Federation Suzuki National Cup in Dumaguete City.
Although Baguio started out aggressively, CFA was quick to attack in the 8th minute through Agapito Baclaan, who pushed the ball into the net.
Until Baguio’s Audie Menzie banked in another goal in the 14th minute for the equalizer.
In the 31st minute, Baguio forward Jenno Aquino gave a scare after he missed a header close to the goal line.
Minutes later, Aquino was booked for his second yellow card and will be off-duty for
the match against Iloilo on Thursday.
Despite a draw, CFA is still on top of Group A with 7 points, followed by Baguio-Benguet FC with five points. As of press time, the match between Iligan and Iloilo is still being played.
