  1. I hope the NT can play against European teams playing in the Bundesliga, Premiere league or La Liga. It will be spectacular and great experience for us.

Maybe we can play also with any J-league or K-League.

    1. Clubs usually show no passion when they play friendlies against NTs, especially when it's minnows like us (in their perspective). Well they may accept our invitation only if we pay enough, but i don't really think it would really help us improve.
Having as many friendlies as possible against middle ranked NTs, i say #60 to #120, would be the best for us.

    2. ^^Friendlies against nations ranked as high as 60?!? lol!! We're lucky enough to get invited by Bahrain (95) & Vietnam (98). What other team ranked all the way up as 60 that would want to play the Philippine?

    3. Can't you read? I said between 60 to 120.

    4. Jesus, we the Philippine NT should first build a real good team, don't wish to play againts a Bundesliga Team. At this very moment it is not a responsible move to do that. This Bundesliga team, are training together almost every day 2x a day. They know exactly who stands where and how that person moves. These players are playing football since they were 6 years old, and trained properly. Compared to the Philippine NT, who if there is a friendly game, Filipino players from almost all over the continent will fly to the Philippines train together 2 or 3 days and then play. The idea to play againts a Bundesliga team is at his time, very ambitious. The neveau of the Philippine NT at the moment cannot even match a 3rd Bundesliga or Oberliga in a German team. We still have a long way to go, haven't you watch the Bundesliga, Premier League Teams when they play and compared the games with our Azkals?

It would be very frustrating to the fans and our NT players if they will lose to these Clubs Teams in Europe you would like them to play. Your dream would not do them good. We have to start slowly and contstantly to climb where we want to be.Your suggestion is very irresponsible at this moment.. Sorry..

  2. A nation with the same mindset of the Philippines when it comes to playing friendlies. Either play against clubs so it wont affect the rankings, or play against other nations YOUTH teams, like Bahrain U23, Australia U22/23, so it wont affect the rankings if they lose, or play against crappy nations like Guam and field our best team in ages and crush the hell out of Guam so that we can improve rankings. LOL

As you know, the management are very focused on the FIFA ranking.

LOL!! It's clearly you who can't read!! Ya obviously you said 60 to 120. But as I said, what nation ranked as high as 60 would we be able to attract?! Barely, if an at all!!

"As you know, the management are very focused on the FIFA ranking."

Yup, katarantaduhan! There's always a mention of ranking when it comes to the national team as if it's a proper measuring stick gauge the development of Philippine football.

  5. Why do so many guys believe playing against a stronger team improves a weaker one?

Good players become good by practising their boots off individually as youngsters on kickabout grounds. Club coaching later on polishes their team skills.
An adult squad of players with few special talents will remain ordinary no matter how much coaching or how many games against higher quality opposition.

The future lies with the kids.

    1. Because everyone else is deluded?? But ya, agreed. Although even with the kids, it doesn't mean quality will improve.
