Denis Wolf will sign for Global Fc ?

Denis Wolf tweeted today that he will play for Global Fc next season. Jeffrey Christiaens seem also to play for Global FC , he has been on the squad list for Global Fc already.

Another clubless player Jason de Jong has signed for Stallion FC.

Stallion Fc has also signed two Spaniards from the CFIM team that visited Philippines

  1. Not a big surprise if Wolf ends up with Global next season. Palami is at it again signing filipinos from abroad. My question is again, like when he signed Angel Guirado. Where do they want to go with their careers? Playing in a league like the UFL will get them nowhere. Level is low, facilities are low, and so on. But the experience will be great, and im not talking about the football.

    1. -Where do they want to go with their careers?-

^^good question! the players probably take the easiest way I guess. I mean Wolf didn't get a new contract in Magdeburg (4th division)..and the team was the worst in their division (North/North East). So he is even not good enough for a low level in Germany....probably Global is slowly the end of his career....and apart from it: I guess you can lead quite a good lifestyle in Philippines with the money you earned abroad as football player...and the salary of Palami won't be bad as well (compared to odinary workers in Philippines)

  2. Oh wow, Global is slowly becoming the team to beat in the UFL. I would have prefered to see Wolf play for Kaya, as they really need a better attack. But either way, I guess this means Izzeldin will have to go, as an attack with Angel, Wolf and Bahadoran is a little too crowded and Izzeldin would want to play as much as possible.
Either way I'm pissed that Kaya didn't take the opportunity to sign a free and quality national team forward.

  3. @ Where do they want to go with their careers?

Guirado, Wolf, or any players who would join UFL knows that they're not that good in Europe, and they know they're not young enough to expect a dramatic improvement. Plus, they're stars in PH unlike their homeland where they're nobody, and joining UFL makes it easier to be picked up by NT anytime. So, why not ? Simple as that.

    1. It doesn't mean they have to play in the Philippines. They're good enough to be playing in a proper pro league somewhere else within Asia. And specifically for Guirado, prior to him playing for Global FC, he said that he wanted to move somewhere where he could continue to play at a high level and improve as much as he could (given this was when he was still 26). This was also when there reported interest from clubs from Japan, Indonesia a few other countries. So it does makes you wonder where their head is at.

    2. Plying in UFL could be better for them at least than playing in other South East Asian leagues. Salaries might be smaller in UFL, but as i said above, they're stars in PH and they could think of various activities besides being a player, related or unrelated to football, to make financial profits from. And again, what makes them star is obviously NT career, and staying in PH makes it way easier for them to be with NT anytime. They may be even thinking about their future in PH after retirement.

Playing in Japan would be another story, but i highly doubt that J1 or J2's clubs showed serious interest in Angel. J and K league's level are not too low to accept any players from european 3rd or 4th divisions, esp. considering the fact that each club's quota for foreign players in both leagues is very limited.

Anyway, one thing for sure is that they don't come to UFL just because they love PH too much. Then just think simple. What else could it be ?

  4. As for the salary, it cant be compared to other pro leagues in Asia, or even the lower pro leagues in Europe. Of course, the cost of living is alot less in the Philippines compared to Europe, but then again, you are more likely used to a higher standards of living in Europe, and spend more money.

I dont know how it works in the UFL, but one rumour when Guirado signed for Global was that he was given 250k for a SEASON, plus car and house. If thats for one whole season, and you divide that amount for how many months the UFL lasts, then it isnt that much really. That was what i was told, but if its 250k per MONTH, then we are talking big bucks. But like i said, i dont know. So i dont really see why they choose the UFL except for the chance to experience something new and do some R&R and get paid to play amateur football.

When it comes to their age, i wouldnt say that Guirado is old to follow his dreams to play in a better league. I dont know about Denis Wolf though. Dont know much about him.

    1. If you're referring to my comments above, what's "negative" about it ? Just call it "realistic" reason.

    2. @ Ben

Is that it? You label the above comments as being negative (even though nothing said is negative) but you're all for it only because "it adds spice to local football"!? lmao!!! That's just retarded! A club could just as easily go out and try to find the new Izo Elhabib or Eric Dagroh or whoever else, and I could also say that they'll "add spice to our football". lol!!!

  6. In my case, i wasnt being negative, i was just asking a question on what their intentions were.

  7. Whatevr your reasons are outside of football, is not our primary concern, what. Is more important is the quality of games they bring to raise the level of play in the UFL, in turn inspiring our local players to match up or even be netter than them, this may even result to our independence of getting foreign based Filipinos for out NT. When a tournaments level of play is high, we try to cope with it, thus making us better players, so their presence in local leagues like the UFL is a very welcome development. Take for example the Armed Forces Team who used to dominate local football, now with the presence of foreign players, Filipinos or otherwise, they could no longer dominate, in fact are dominated, so this only shows that football Ievel in the Philippines has progressed... So we should not be negative and in fact thank them for choosing to play here, even with a lower salary, sometimes it's all about patriotism...

  8. Green Archers should sign Wolf, Surely La Salle and Globe can afford his services. It would be much better because it will balance the competition. Global is too crowded up front. They already have El Habib, Recheilt, Guirado, Bahadoran.

A better local league will do more positive to Philippine Football.

    1. yes, but I dont think Green Archers do have to sign fil-foreigners. You can get better players for the salary that Wolf getting at Global FC. Sign one or two good Brazilian or African players . They should also scout for good Div 2 players , or players from the regions .

  9. Alam nyo, Si James Younghusband was interviewed by Boy Abunda sa Bandila two nights ago. He was asked a question before the interview was closed that "What is your dream of Philippine Footbal?". He replied, "For football to be a "religious thing" in the Philippines?"

It would be nice that we support always both in writing and in actual. Watch the actual games, buy tickets, buy souvenirs, support the teams and enjoy their games.

By talking about football like what we are doing is good but we need to fully support football like what we have done with basketball. Unfortunately, we concentrated more on basketball. Yung mga imports nagdala nang bagong style of play sa football. Yung mga Fil-foreigners aside sa galing nila ay charisma din ang dala nila sa mga commercials at sa local girls natin para hangaan and this is not bad for football na unti-unti nakikilala.

Our "football game" has a long way to go guys. We can help but how is up to everyone of us.

    1. Sigurado na ma relegate ang Navy, so dapat sa kanila ibigay na ang ibang player nila sa Airforce. Tapos next year ang Army na naman ang ma relegate. Dapat i-combine na lng sila tatlo at ibansag na AFP team.

Wolf for Green Archers + quality defender - Ayos na.
Welcome Pachanga FC. Next year will be more exciting!
