MANILA, Philippines -The Philippines held Indonesia to a draw, 2-2, behind scintillating goals from James and Phil Younghusband Tuesday in their FIFA sanctioned international friendly at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.
Phil Younghusband scored the equalizer in the 84th minute right set up by a long ball by Fil-Danish Dennis Cagara.
Irfan Bachdim put Indonesia ahead 2-1 on a breakaway in the 61st minute to cap a wild five-minute stretch where three goals were scored.
James Younghusband put the Azkals in the scoring column as he calmly struck the ball past the goal keeper in the 59th minute.
Chieffy Caligdong and Manny Ott were sent off after a scuffle as both teams played with nine players.
Angel Guirado had several shots on goal including a header in the 25th that just hit the crossbar off a throw-in by Jason Sabio.
GREAT AND AS THE WRITE SAID "SCINTILLATING" GAME.
ReplyDeleteI HOPE SOME NICE CRITICS DON'T TAKE THE CREDIT OF THE GAME FROM BOTH TEAMS. INDONESIA AND THE PHILIPPINE TEAM PLAYED WELL EVEN AT THE END WHERE WE HAVE 3 PLAYERS.
THERE IS NO COACHING MISTAKE HERE OR PLAYER PLAYING NOT WELL. ALL PLAYERS FROM BOTH TEAMS PLAYED THE BEST FOOTBALL I'VE EVER SEEN IN THE PHILIPPINES.
CONGRATS TO BOTH TEAMS FOR PLAYING WELL.
EVEN WITH TWO PLAYERS EJECTED, WE PLAYED A GREAT FOOTBALL.
