QUEEN City United escaped Sunken Garden, 3-2, to get their needed win to stay in the top four teams of the United Football League Division 2 yesterday at University of Makati.
The team had a sloppy start in the first half but recovered in the second half where they become more aggressive.
After missing last week’s game, Dan Villarico returned with two goals while Albert Nankil scored the other one to give the team another win in its last third game of the second round.
Head coach Mario Ceniza, who was challenged with the unavailability of his players, said it would have been a different story had a full squad come into play.
“Namiss jud namo ang mga absent players. Lahi ra ang duwa sa team ron kay wa kaayo movement sa attacking half,” said Ceniza.
The squad flew to Manila with only 16 players and three were goalkeepers. Starters Ariel Cahilig and Adlao Rivera missed the game after being booked for a red card while Junard Aguilar had work commitments. (CDG)
