  8. we have bunch of crabs here. haha. when you play in competitions, you hope of winning. why, you don't you? if not, better get out of the competition. or unless you're lame and never have a competitive heart. ridiculous anonymous comment. haha.

  9. crabs...crabs! talangka...! if you nothing good to say..keep it and stuck it in ur ass! go team philippines!

  10. that SEA goal came from the ass. the u23 hasnt proved themselves to be one of the contenders for a medal. the other nations have been playing against other nations, while the u23 kittens settles with kids from high school. its not about crab mentality, its about being realistic and knowing the teams limits.

  11. here's another one down here. u don't know futbol, do u? japan highschool futbol is one of asia's best and most competitive, don't u know that? they have this annual All-Japan High School Soccer Tournament. it's very competitive that even the JFA has more than 3 tiers of U19, U16 and U15 national team training pool to choose from. think about that! they event sent an U15 team to AFC's U16 event which i personally watched in Laos. well, they won all their games! u think Japan highschool is that lame? whoa! think again.

other nations playing other nations? does that mean they have a chance to an outright medal? haha. ridiculous. everyone has equal chance. will see that when the games begin.

note: our U23 is not in a group of death. not easy but i believe they can pull it thru - vietnam, myanmar, laos, east timor, brunei. convinced?

U23 hasn't proved themselves? haha, ridiculous. they beat japan highschool, drew a tokyo club and lost once - given it's their 1st time to play together in a span of 1 wk? cm'on dont be so crab! u see the potential there.

  12. wow.... they beat a high school team and drew a youth team of a club. woopty doo!

the problem with you people is that you love to ride on the bandwagon of hype!! they tell you they'll get a medal, you believe it from the get go! someone has a different view, you consider it as bashing, crab mentality and all that. you lot are just fucked in the head its untrue!

believe what you want to believe. just don't get pissed off when I or anybody else that comes back later on and tells you "I TOLD YOU SO."

  13. haha, yeah, its crab, dont u knw that? its like u dont have confidence in this very simple manner of competing. r u a filipino, or arent u? even bandwagons realize something about this hype. cant u see PH football is gaining attention? i have been playing futbol for 15 years and have been following the palarong pambansa, tiger/suzuki cups (u never had the feeling of seeing PH whipped off by lowly laos 10 yrs back), unigames, philippine open, challenge cups, U23 suzuki cup until now. i never complained and even got harsher words that "I TOLD YOU SO". but i believed and still do. y shud i get pissed off? its my national team! its pride to see ur nation get represented than not being at all. futbol is resurging dude, dnt b so bitter! haha.

  14. articles never mentions if the high school teams they played against are amongst the best. from all we know they could be mediocre teams. hows that for a start. the laos U23 team lost against the nepal national team. and our u23 actually has experience from football academies from the UK, like the Hartmann bros who used to be with Portsmouth. then you got other guys who are talented with experience from europe and the US. so why play against japanese high school teams? to get better confidence if theyre lucky to win, which they didnt.

saying that everyone has an equal chance is pure BS. there are a bunch of teams that are ahead of the rest, and you can see that in the Euros, WC etc etc. in this case, id be satisfied if our u23 team can get a win.

we are filipinos, but does that mean, by being a filipino, that its not allowed to be realistic? or do you mean that all filipinos should take the bait and believe that the azkals will win a medal? just like you ive followed philippine football for over a decade, and i know what you mean, but that doesnt mean that ill have wild fantasies about the u23 winning sea games or getting a medal.

btw, the u23 played several tune up games in philippines before heading to japan. theyve been training together for quite some time now. and saying that they only played together for the first time this last week is just wrong.

  15. haha. now ur talking. weiss may have made a good or wrong choice of teams to play against. we dont know really. buti think the JFA may not suggest a weak team in the 1st place. the azkals got beaten 8-0 by a local university team. so they're good. it maybe relative to this highschool team vs u23. we can never know. but realistic u say, i think the tuneups opened up rooms to improve. im not hallucinating. im just confident of the potential of this team. well, we can never know yet once the games begin. :)

on the u23 team, yep, the team in japan have jst trained together this week. the u23 team that beat air force 2wks ago, 4-2, was a different team. so too with other tuneups here.

see the potential in hartmann brothers formerly of portsmouth youth as u say; mueller, christaens, de murga, leonora, morallo, and the rest of the team. maybe u shud add both to the equation. realistically, they can. look at their group.

the games aint started yet. have u thought the azkals before the azkals can make it thru the top 4 of the suzuki cup last yr? have u thought they cud get thru the next round of WCQ and play kuwait? with ur mentality, im sure u didnt, am i ryt? arent u happy that for decade of following PH football, there's quite a stir now? cm'on dude, lets give them a chance. if the u23 didnt get a medal after the games, then its fine with me. at least i supported their quest for it. u didnt right before it started. that's a crab.

  16. azkals had a streak of luck both in the qualifier for the suzuki cup and in suzuki cup itself. an honest fan would admit that. in the qualifier for the suzuki cup, the azkals were lucky that they werent down with 4 goals to nothing against laos, but they managed a draw in the last minute and got through. and in suzuki cup, they had alot of luck as well. they were even lucky in the afc challenge cup qualifier where they managed draws and a win. only the win was deserved, and the rest was luck as they struggled against myanmar and the other team, palestine i think.

no, in the wc qualifier, i was confident they would make it to the 2nd round. what surprised me was that they only managed a draw away against sri lanka. against kuwait, i didnt expect much, but you saw the potential of the team, and they shouldve deserved at least a couple of more goals as they had several good chances. so, no, im not all about negativity. its not crab, its about seeing things in a different perspective. im happy for philippine football and the attention its getting, and the sport has grown alot the last year, yet alone the last 6 months. but just because things has started to take off, im not going to jump off the chair and think we can win the sea games or qualify for the next wc.

we are still way behind SEA countries when it comes to local grassroot programs and development of local talents and in terms of quality leagues. field a team of homegrown players, included caligdong, borromeo and so on, against a thai/malaysian/singapore team and we will get beaten badly.

the u23 has newcomers, but it doesnt automatically say that they will play their hearts out and impress everyone. this tournament will be a new experience for most of them, a new setting, and it might not turn out well. so we will see, but like i said. id be happy if we get a win. id be overjoyed with happiness if we manage 10 points.

  17. nice! that's a quick shift bro! i appreciate ur seemingly change of heart. that's the mentality we need to have when a national team plays. enough of the sarcasm, we have had enough of those already. this is a new era of PH football. the azkals and the u23 team have our support. i missed to mention about our recent u16 team in laos. we were were not whipped easily though other teams admired the team's new-found form. reason for the loss - POOR training and grassroots program. but kudos to the effort. as u say luck, i add on - potential. the azkals didnt have the potent form to beat vietnam. the u23 have both. i believe they will progress from the group stage. they may advance and take the medal - but it's still very uncertain. but we'll just see. :)

  18. it's worse if we beat the japanese national team during a friendly and then lose to a u23 laos team at the sea games. i don't know about you guys, but i think you are losing the point of training. it's going up, not down. we should train on weaker teams in order to improve teams. this is what other teams do. the spanish national team does not do a friendly against the netherlands to prepare for a match against timor-leste.

  19. Friendlies :Laos U23 played Malaysia U23 , Timor Leste played Indonesia U23, Myanmar U23 played in 4 nations tournament against Vietnam U23 , Uzbekistan U23 and Malaysia U23....

  20. the real point here is "Manalo, Matalo, sa Azkals/u23 pa rin tayo!" It may sound ridiculous but i think it's even more ridiculous to root for the vietnam u23 in a VN-PH game. what about that! if our u23 win or lose, then we know where to go from there. it's not the end of it. suporta lang. enough of the bashing and crab. this is our national team. maghahanap pa ba tayo ng iba maliban sa andyan na?
