THE Abellana National School (ANS) Pomeroy drew with the Bukidnon Football Association, 1-1 to secure the bronze medal in the U16 football competition of the 4th Pintaflores National Invitational Tournament yesterday.
With the draw, ANS-Pomeroy finished with 2 wins, 2 draws and a loss.
The tournament ended yesterday in San Carlos City with the host team once again ruling the tournament with 4 wins, 1 loss and a draw.
San Carlos City lost its final assignment yesterday against Don Bosco Victorias, 0-1 in a non-bearing match.
The Negros Oriental Football Association (NORFA)-Dumaguete finished second with 3 wins, 1 loss and 1 draw after routing Barotac Nuevo Iloilo, 4-0, for its final match.
Bukidnon scored the first goal on the 26th minute when ANS failed to clear the ball on a goal mouth scramble which resulted from a corner kick.
ANS equalized at the 85th minute on a penalty kick which resulted from a handball foul by the Bukidnon defender. It was converted by Michael Ruete.
Head coach Francis Ramirez said his boys had so many chances to score but failed to convert any of its attempts.
