AFTER snatching a win last week, Queen City United is oozing with confidence as it plays its fourth game in the second round of the United Football League Division 2 against Socceroo at the Artificial Turf in Bonifacio Global Center at 2 p.m. today.
The game last week was the squad’s first win in the second round and the only non-Manila-based team in the premier league is still at third place with nine wins, two draws and three losses.
They are hoping to snag their second straight win against Socceroo, which is in seventh place with five wins, two draws and seven losses.
Head coach Mario Ceniza will also try a new system to improve the team’s execution.
“We already applied this system (diamond formation) in the last game and I’m satisfied. It also suits the players,” said Ceniza.
The new position assures that there will be support for the two strikers.
Ceniza, however, still reminds his boys not to be complacent despite playing with a middle-ranked team.
“Dili gihapon mukumpiyansa because they are not a bad team and they also have good players,” said Ceniza.
The team returns to playing on the artificial turf, which is also a challenge for them considering the turf at BGC is a smaller pitch. Also, with the schedule of the game at 2 p.m. which is the hottest of the day, Ceniza hopes his players can endure the condition of the field.
Also today, the Philippine Air Force will face the Philippine Navy, while Stallion Giligan’s faces the Loyola Meralco Sparks.
