DEFENDING champion Hiroshi FC will get a chance to keep its title after earning a tough 2-1 win over San Roque FC, 2-1, in the semifinals of the 12th Cebu Inter Club Football Cup at the University of San Carlos-Talamban Campus.
Hiroshi will face last year’s losing finalist Queen City, which booted out Erco FC, 1-0, on Rodney Gandiongco’s 75th-minute goal.

Hiroshi will face Queen City United in today’s finals at 3 p.m. after crushing team Erco FC-TT, 1-0 behind the effort of Rodney Gandionco in 75 minutes.
Peter Martin Dionela got the first goal for Hiroshi in the 11th minute and Henderson Jay Ocampo preserved the lead with a brilliant stop off San Roque’s Epifanio Ynot.
Things got heated in the match and John Rey Nieves of Hiroshi got a yellow card for unsportsmanlike behavior after hitting Adrian Floria on the shin. In the second half, San Roque’s Reno Saiboc allegedly punched Jhovan James Bacus, and he was promptly sent off the field.
With only 12 minutes left, Adrian Mejaran finally found the equalizer for San Roquez but Ryan Bordalba quickly gave Hiroshi the lead with an 85th minute strike.
In the Boys 17 division, Abellana National School survived the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu via shootout, 6-5, and will face Team Cebu, which routed Springdale, 7-0, on goals by Val Calvo, Christian Agot, Yves Caballero and Marc Armamento.
In the 10-Under, Canduman routed Los Amigos, 3-0, and will face Ateneo de Cebu, a 1-0 winner over Count FC. It’s also Canduman vs. Ateneo in the 14-Under after Canduman booted out ANS, 1-0, and Ateneo de Cebu won over Los Amigos, 1-0.
