ERCO-PTT took the top spot in their group after routing FC Inter Cebu, 5-1, in the 12th Cebu Amateur Football Club Interclub men’s open at the University of San Carlos-Talamban Campus field.
Jhon Roy Melgo had two goals while Dario Surig Jr., Reymund Torres and Robert Mamac contributed one each for Erco’s third straight win. Erco now leads Group A on goals with eight more than Hiroshi, which also has three wins. Both teams will advance to the semifinals.
In the later match, Camella FC got their second win in four matches after beating Hijos Del Pueblo,4-1, to finish with a 2-2 mark, and third place in Group A.
In the Boys 17 Bracket A, Ormoc FC silenced FCIC, 5-1, and will gun for another win against second placer Ateneo de Cebu today. Paref Springdale leads the standings with three wins and one draw, and could face fierce rival Abellana National School-Pomeroy in the semifinals.
In Bracket B played at San Roque Field, Cebu Team earned a default win ANS-Pomeroy whose players had to miss the game for a school exam. Cebu leads the rankings with four wins followed by ANS-Pomeroy. SC Warriors routed DB Razkals, 6-1.
Age group
Los Amigos crushed SJSM/3 Brothers, 3-0, and will take on the streaking Ateneo de Cebu, which has won its last three matches. Canduman FC leads the standings with three wins and one loss.
Instead of championship match this Saturday, organizers decided to have a semifinal matches on Saturday to maximize playing time for participating teams.
In the Boys12. Canduman FC and Ormoc FC lead Bracket A, while Ateneo de Cebu and Danao FC in Bracket .
In Players 10, USV NC won against Team Warzhockz, 2-1, while Dinamo FC blanked South Cebu 1-0.
Ateneo de Cebu also scored a shutout after routing Los Amigos, 5-0.
Ateneo de Cebu and Los Amigos lead Bracket A, while Canduman Fc and Count FC in Bracket B.
