QUEEN City United (QCU)handed Diliman FC its first loss via a 4-1 demolition in the United Football League Second Division yesterday at the University of Makati football field.
QCU banked an early goal in the sixth minute through Junard Aguilar, which was then followed by another goal from Ariel Cahilig to pad the lead, 2-0.
But Diliman the lead just before the first half ended.
QCU stepped up its defenses and managed to hold Diliman scoreless in the second half.
Cahilig then made things worse for Diliman after scoring his second goal, before Carlito Abadia closed the victory for QCU .
“I just made sure that the boys will keep on defending and I was happy that they held on defensively,” said head coach Mario Ceniza.
A much pressured Diliman saw itself collapsing on its play and defense in the second half.
Diliman now needs to snatch another victory to keep up with leader Pachanga in the standings.
Ceniza also added that it was a good move to integrate their new game plans in the match.
Seeing the positive outcome, they will also apply this next week as they play Laos FC at the Alabang Country Club.
