  1. Team based on who was playing for Azkals in Bacolod adding some fil-foreigners who are expected to go directly to Malaysia.

  2. The likes of the Younghusbands won't be available for the Guam game?

  3. Based on past rosters I think 36/38(?) year old Margarse will be included. I cant understand but those "much" older Armed Forces team vets seem to have a "patron" putting them there when we are better served playing some young guns like Neckson Leonora or Barbaso.

    1. sino pa ba eh di si uncle. hanggat si araneta ang nakaupo sa PFF walang mangyayari sa grassroots natin. puro mga damatans at banban na ilonggo ang ilalagay diyan.

If I am to choose, I would like to put in at least 4 homegrown young talents to gain experience against international players. It is either putting them in the starting line-up or to subbed in. In this way, they will develop and will have additional confidence and experience as well.
But I also like the half-Pinoy footballers to play as added fire power.
    Go Azkallll. Awooooooo!!

  6. Where's Freddy Gonzalez? He's better than Ian Araneta.

    1. I tweeted to him. He told me he did not expect a call-up because he could not be in training camp in Bacolod because of work commitments.

      Maybe against Guam ?

  7. He plays in a crappy Div. 2 league. Even Ian Araneta could score as many goals as Freddy in that league.

    1. clearly, you are new to football. you have no idea who Freddy Gonzalez is.

  8. Ive followed the national team since the 90s. I know very well who Freddy is. I know what he stands for, but my point is that league he plays in sucks, and thats a fact. I dont like Ian Araneta, and i dont understand why he is on the national team, but my point is that he wouldve scored many goals as well in that league.

    1. Meh! Araneta if put in division 2, he will score goals but not as much as Freddy does! As people say, class is permanent. And clearly Freddy's class still shows despite being 33 and only got back into competitive football this year. Araneta never had and will never have the same class and even flair that Freddy had and still has.

Plus, the national team needs impact players. A 33 year old Freddy could be just that... definitely better than trying to throw in someone like Araneta if we're in need of goals.

  10. Freddy is 34. Not to defend Araneta, but for years he has shown on the local leagues that he knows how to score goals, but has failed miserably for the national team except for a couple of occasions. He has 9 goals out of the 23 goals his team has scored this season, and i wouldnt say this is bad at all.

Freddy has been out of the sport for years and has lost alot. I dont agree that class is permanent. Look at Torres for Chelsea. Class? No. LOL

Anyway, it will be interesting to see how Pachanga and Freddy will fare against the better teams in Div. 1 next season. It wont be as easy as this season.

In the end its coach Weiss(Palami) who decides who is good enough for the team. And apparantly Araneta and Margarse are still "good". LOL

    1. "Freddy has been out of the sport for years and has lost alot. I dont agree that class is permanent. Look at Torres for Chelsea. Class? No. LOL"

First of all Freddy is 33, he turns 34 in October! Second, Freddy may have "lost a lot" but nobody is saying that he should be playing from the start! As said, we need impact players, Freddy could be just that! Third, if you are actually familiar with that saying then what I said above wasn't complete... "form is temporary, class is permanent". The first bit can't really apply to Freddy therefore I didn't use it. lol! As for Torres, Chelsea isn't right club for him!

"He has 9 goals out of the 23 goals his team has scored this season, and i wouldnt say this is bad at all."

Ya it's not bad but it isn't great either. On top of that, its not just about goals, its about the overall contribution of the player, and Araneta barely does anything in that regard for club and especially country! And a 33 year old Freddy who has "lost a lot" would have more impact than he does.

    2. how many goals has araneta scored lately (after Suzuki) in international competition?

    3. 1 goal and 12 stack ups.

    4. LOL

You guys want Margarse and Gener out coz of age, and now you want "old" Freddy. He hasnt played internationally for ages, hasnt played locally for ages until last year.
When he played backed then he didnt make an impact for the national team. He didnt, and he wont. He looked good because the rest of the team sucked big time. His stint in Vietnam? Not that impressive, and didnt last long, but it is still in the "history" books. Just because he scores alot of goals for a very good team in a very crappy league, doesnt mean that he will run circles around Malaysians in the 5minutes he wouldve played, and score a brace.

Let the younger talents in! Forget the old heroes. Margarse, Gener, etc. Move on.

As for Torres. Chelsea couldve been a good club for him with many world class players who could serve him perfect passes, but fact is, is that he has lost it.

Maybe England should bring in Andy Cole, Sheringham and so on coz for the Euros coz they had class back in the days. LOL lol and even more LOL!

    5. So you think you're all funny and smart now? You must really fell proud of yourself now huh? LOL back at you!! You just sound like a complete numpty instead!!

This "old" Freddy, as you put it, is still much better than some of the other options available! Let me guess, you would prefer your favorite Ian Araneta play? Or you would rather have these supposed better young "talent" play... Clarino?!? Ya, LOL!!!! And even more LOL!!!!!

As for that last paragraph of yours... Moronic as hell, I don't even know where to begin. Hmmm... maybe we should resurrect Paulino Alcantara from the dead, I'm sure he'd be a great option as well for the Philippines. pfff moron!!

    1. Clarino?!? Why?! He's shyte and hasn't done anything of note at senior level yet! Would rather have Doctora or even Simpron than him.

      Delete
    2. Because they listened to Spongebob Guerrero's article of giving more opportunity to crappy home grown players. And more Negrense and Ilonggo.

      Delete
    3. Yuck!!! Clarino hasn't even scored a single goal for Stallions.... hell, has he even made an appearance for them yet, let alone score a goal?!?! lol!! And then he gets "rewarded" with a senior national team call-up?!?! BS!!

Then you have another shitty player in Margarse who for whatever reason continues to get called up like he's some important and quality player that needs to be part of the team. More BS!!

Definitely seems like there's politicking when it comes to squad selections.

    4. Weiss, Palami, or both have a taste for crappy players. Look at Camcam, he got capped for the Philippines! So did that crappy defender from the US. Dont remember his name. And even players like Relucio. They even sent Camcam to Germany, and what a waste. This will still continue in the years to come. But who knows, maybe those guys have rich parents and that maybe they chip in and are "silent" sponsors. I also have a hunch that Palami is controlling the squad selections. I mean, Weiss doesnt even watch the UFL games from what ive heard. So how can he see who is good or shite?

    5. "I also have a hunch that Palami is controlling the squad selections."

I've had the same hunch for some time already... to the point where I see it as fact! Hell, I've a had a strong hunch, and still do, that he controls the entire team like he owns it, let alone squad selections!

"Weiss doesnt even watch the UFL games from what ive heard. So how can he see who is good or shite?"

He doesn't need to because of the above... Palami has influence on squad selections anyway! lol!!!

    6. how moronic of you to even say that. you think if he freely chooses the squad, he will not include his players from Global and Laos? say Barbaso, Basa, etc..? i don't know why simple logic escapes you.

"Weiss doesnt even watch the UFL games from what ive heard. So how can he see who is good or shite?" - oh, he does. maybe it's you who don't. he was even interviewed at halftime and pics of him watching is all over.

  13. Thanks, not much difference from my expected squad :) OJ Clarino in , Jonsson dont come. They dont bring Cuaresma as third choice GK and Andres Gonzales not going

  14. OJ plays the wing for the NT.. I think they are bringing him in because of the absence of James.. but I highly doubt that he will play.. Reichelt will get his first cap here.. as a sub or starter?.. that's for us to see..
Margarse?! why not bring a Barbaso for def or even a Basa.. nuff said
    no Anto? ='(

    1. As a squad player as winger or up front... doesn't matter. At the end of the day, Clarino isn't good enough and shouldn't be anywhere near the full national team! I also agree that he might not play but with Weiss who knows. I mean, he seems to be fascinated with Angeles as well even though he's also not good enough yet he gets selected regularly.

negrense players are better than ilonggo players. joshua beloya, valmayor, jake morallo and ref cuaresma. lagi talo nag iloilo sa negros. hehe.
