  2. All the other teams have already started their prepations awhile ago. Singapore and Vietnam have sent their U-23 teams to a tournament last September against teams from Qatar and S Korea. Malaysia has sent their teams to Slovakia to play teams from Europe like they did the last SEA games, which helped them win the tournament. Indonesia U-23 managed to play a competitive 1-1 draw against their senior team and has played numerous friendlies for some time against professional clubs as they are determined to win at home. Add this to the fact that most of the players from these teams are familiar with each other from their time playing in the Olympic qualifiers. As for the Philippines, we don't have a final roster as of yet as we are awaiting confirmation from players abroad and have not played one game as a complete team. After all this, it will be tough getting out of our group, much less any hopes of obtaining a medal.

  3. "Philippines hoping for medal ? No chance !"

    Trololol!!!

That was very obvious right from the moment the announcement came that we were going to enter the football competition. Its just going to egg on all the faces of the people, like Palami, president Araneta and whoever actually believe that we have a genuine chance of getting a medal. The saving grace for them is if one of them like Palami comes out retracts their statements about expecting a medal.

  4. i don't want to be pessimistic....but the fact that the opponent teams are longer together and having a better preperation it will be no suprise if we just end 4th in the group...and even Cambodia must be beaten first

  5. I still believe we can win some games. We need to see the final lineup. Christiansen, Carli, 2 Hartmans. Misa and Leonora for sure will be on the roster. Will Abs-CBN televise this games?

  6. I think inspite of the lack of preparation we can still be competitive if Coach Weiss adopts a counterattacking style of play. It doesn't take as long to master and will allow us to use our speed to take advantage of opportunities. Obtaining a medal is still a long shot but it will make us competitive. However as we all know this system is not Coach Weiss'es cup of tea but maybe he realizes he cannot use his offensive philosophy in the short time given to prepare and be pragmatic enough to improvise. Think Suzuki Cup when as underdogs we surprised a lot of teams.

  9. Wala na ba talagang pag-asa na mabalik sa line-up sa Simon Greatwich? At least meron din syang experience as an Azkal kahit konti. It would be nice to see him with De Jong, Ott, Mark Hartman, Christaens. Add also Joshua Beloya. At least our back four has already familirized themselves a little like De Murga, Leonora, Potsche. I prefer to put Matt Hartman in the defense than in the midfield and Unabia as an alternate in the Center back position.

  11. lol Potschke isn't part of the provisional because he's not eligible for the U-23's anymore!! He's 24!!

Simon Greatwich also isn't part of the squad. He's busy with college and his college team!

It looks quite decent on paper, but doesn't look like it would trouble any other teams in the group.

  12. O nga 24 na pala si Potschke. Si Unabia or Basa na lng sa central defense. I prefer to see Matt Hartman at the back four than in the midfiled.
