Ho Chi Minh: Thailand became the runners-up in the AFC U-14 Girls Regional
Championship for the ASEAN region after downing the Philippines 4-0 in their
final match at Thong Nhat Stadium on Sunday.
Kanyanat Chetthabutr scored a brace with Anuthida Malasri and Pradthana
Songkram also getting on the scoresheet for Nuengrutai Srathongvian’s Thai
side.
The Thais finished second on the six-nation table on a single goal
difference below hosts and champions Vietnam and above third-spot
Myanmar.
Thailand accumulated 12 points from five matches while the
Marnelli Salvador Dimzon-led Philippines concluded their campaign on seven
points from two wins and a draw and finished on fourth
spot.
