STALLION-Sta. Lucia kept its title hopes in the United Football League alive on Tuesday night, but not after enduring anxious moments in a 6-3 victory over Nomads at the Emperador Stadium in Taguig.
Rufo Sanchez registered a brace, while three others found the back of the net for the Stallions, who also benefited from an own goal by Nomads to score the rout.
The reigning UFL Cup champions thus improved to 45 points, five ahead of Global, which still has a game in hand.
Nomads stayed in eighth place with 13 markers.
