UFL changes sked for Azkals

The Philippine Azkals will be in full force when they face
Hong Kong
in a friendly on June 4 after the United Football League agreed
to move the marquee showdown between Global FC and the
Loyola Meralco Sparks to a later date.
In a decision made last Friday, the UFL has scheduled the
Global-Loyola affair for June 6 in exchange for a match featuring
Kaya FC and struggling Philippine Air Force.
UFL’s decision thus paved the way for both teams’ national
players to suit up for the Azkals against Hong Kong in a
match that will be used as early preparation for next year’s
AFC Challenge Cup in Maldives.
Global has five players – Jeff Christiaens, Jason de Jong,
Marwin Angeles, Ed Sacapano and Carli de Murga –
that were included in the 18-man Azkals roster while
Loyola has brothers Phil and James Younghusband.
The Global-Loyola match carries importance in the
UFL title race, particularly Global which trails
Stallion Sta. Lucia by just two points.
