Nigerian leads QCU in 9-0 win vs. DBU-FC

CEBU-based Nigerian Samson Olaniyi scored four goals for the Cebu Queen City United as they slaughtered Don Bosco United FC (DBU-FC)-A, 9-0, in the men's open of the 15th Aboitiz Cup yesterday at the Aboitiz Sports Field.
Olaniyi powered the team early in the match after banking his first goal in the 11th minute, which he followed up with another goal seven minutes after.
A Joseph Rodriguez effort in the 23rd minute closed the first half with QCU ahead, 3-0.
In the 49th minute, Jade Paghubasan sank his first goal, which was succeeded by Olaniyi's third goal in the 53rd mark.
Rene Menchavez and Junard Aguilar joined in the scoring rampage after chipping in with one goal each in the 65th and 74th minute, respectively.
Paghubasan scored his second goal in the 72nd minute, while Olaniyi capped his performance with his fourth goal in the 88th minute.
The team is now on a two-game winning streak after beating FC Inter Cebu in its last match.
Although DBU FC-A fell into the hands of the defending champions, its other team, DBU FC-B routed Apas Mizkits in a 4-0 beating.
In other results for the men's open, Cebu Amateur Football Club survived Indiana, 2-1, while Samba FC swallowed San Roque Football Club, 9-1.
Meanwhile, in the inter-company category, Convergys-A silenced Arkiteks, 4-0, but its other team Convergys-B lost to Stream, 2-0.
San Miguel United relied on its one goal advantage against Timex LS,3-2, while Springdale egded Lear FC, 1-0. A 1-1 draw resulted between Accenture and NCR.
