Queen City reveals lineup for PFF tourney

THE Cebu Queen City United (CQCU) which will represent the Cebu Football Association (CFA) in the upcoming Philippine Football Federation (PFF)-Smart Club Championships has bared its lineup.
Playing as the team’s goalkeepers are Charles Villarta and Benjamin Sanchez. Defenders are Limhar Baunsit, Bryan Eborda, Marion Cubelo, Ryoji Inoue, Miguel Gonzales and Frederick Isic while the team’s midfielders are Junard Aguilar, Jhonny Dalman, Rene Menchavez, Siegfred Apurado, Rommel Cuizon, Joseph Rodriguez, Samson Olaniyi, Albert Nangkil and Carlito Abadia. Forwards are Dan Villarico, Ariel Cahilig and Jade Paghubasan.
Reserve players are Prime Agang (goalkeeper), Nicholas Villacin (defender) and Ben Rotich (forward).
The team will be coached by Mario Ceniza to be assisted by Allan Medalla.
CQCU earned the right to represent the CFA after winning the men’s open title of the Aboitiz Football Cup last year.
The Visayas regional eliminations will be held at the Silliman Ballpark in Dumaguete City from Nov. 21 to 25.
Team manager Stanley Villacin said the team has been practicing daily to prepare for the tournament. Villacin said that they opted to join this tournament instead of the United Football League to see where the team stands against its regional neighbors.
According to Villacin, the team is also beefed up by a Nigerian and Japanese player since tournament organizers allow foreigners in the lineup to elevate the level of the sport.
CQCU will go up against Iloilo, Leyte, Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental. /

    1. The weakest?! They finished third last season behind Pachanga and Diliman, of which the latter has lost all of its best players to the former. If they join Div 2 again they will have no competition for promotion to Div 1 unless Gen Trias and maybe Mendiola join the UFL.
