  5. maybe for some a bit pessimistic, but i think realistic: 5-0 for Kuwait.

    ReplyDelete
  6. ^^It's not pessimistic at all. Only noobs and idiots would think so. Although I think a consolation goal would be possible for us. 5-1 to Kuwait!

    ReplyDelete
  7. I would say 4-1. maybe a consolation can be scored. Hope we don't get shattered higher like Laos today. 7-2 defeat in China. They kept it close up to 72th min. with just 3-2 (they even had the lead with 2-0)....and then they got 4 goals within 15 min. hope we don't run into the same desaster

    ReplyDelete
  8. I was actually surprised at first when i logged on to futbol24.com to see that Laos was up 2-0. Then it kept on beeping on me everytime China scored. LOL.

I just hope Philippines puts up a great fight. But man, Kuwait plays fast. We'll see soon enough, though.

  10. It will be a fun match but it would be a very hard game for Azkals since kuwait have many cups and trophies...i expect 5-1 for kuwait but may the better side win.

    Hold your head up high
And don’t be afraid of the dark

At the end of the storm
    Is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of the lark

    Walk on through the wind
    Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown

Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart
    And you’ll never walk alone
    You’ll never walk alone

    And you’ll never walk alone

  12. Full Time results :

    Thailand 1-0 Palestine
    China 7-2 Laos

    Singapore leading 4-1 against Malaysia

  13. 5-3 now for Singapore...... red and red/yellow cards....a lot of action there :-))

  14. Watching the match of Schröcky right now in Berlin. He makes a great performance.....and his cross went to the 2-0 lead of his club....such a player we would need this evening....but even he hadn't been booked twice he would miss the match vs. Kuwait (as his club won't release him).

    ReplyDelete
  15. Will he leave for Manila after this match ? Im not sure..

    ReplyDelete
  16. Its hopeless. Sabio is starting. Fuck!

    ReplyDelete
  17. What the hell is everyone's problem with Sabio anyway?!? Fuck! Sure, he's a bit inconsistent and still somewhat inexperienced, but he's still a decent option and he also decent compared to any other option you would find locally.

  18. I predict now Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia will be the SEA countries that advance to Round 3. Malaysia lost today but 3-5 loss at away game isn't as bad as it looks. Thanks to away goal rule, Malaysia only needs a 2-0 or 3-1 win at home for Round 3 and they're strong enough at home to pull that off.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Its 0-2 for Azkals wins

    ReplyDelete
  20. Thailand will face a hard fight in Palestine. A 1-0 is a very thin lead....but i guess they will make it with a draw. I am not sure about Malaysia...i bet Singapore will make it as I think they have also better chances in the group stage. The 1-1 of Indonesia was a good result for them and Turkmenistan conceived a red card so chances are good for them. Anyway, the more SEA teams in the group stage the better.

  24. 2 big chances for Azkals , then Kuwait score 1-0...

    ReplyDelete
  25. 1-0 kuwait, right after azkals almost scored

    ReplyDelete
  26. this is the beginning of the end....

    ReplyDelete
  27. 1-0 , 25 mins... ok start

    ReplyDelete
  28. even kuwait dominates with ball possession, azkals play quite well and don't hide. at the moment it looks like kuwait is strong but not a hyper team which can't be beaten.....just this stupid goal where 2 defenders "guard" the kuwaiti

    ReplyDelete
  29. almost a score for azkals....fine shot from phil , safe from kuwaiti goalkeeper...still touched the crossbar

    ReplyDelete
  30. gap between phil and the midfield is too big. kuwaits midfield just stroll through with no pressure. other than that, the game has been pretty open. ray jonsson has played very well so far.

    ReplyDelete
  31. HT 1-0.....closer than expected...so far quite good performance of our team....if they can keep it that close....it will be a thriller in Manila with all reinforcements (Schrock, Borromeo....)

    Kuwait 1-0 Azkals HT

    ReplyDelete
  33. pressure of kuwait gets stronger and stronger, i suppose the defense can't resist it long....

    ReplyDelete
  34. team is swimming since the 60 min., probably they have to pay tribute to the hot temperature

    ReplyDelete
  35. team is totally exhausted....goals 2 and 3 due to that fact.....but no alternative to exchange on the bench to keep that level

    ReplyDelete
  36. Michael Weiss is gay.
    Sub.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Result wasnt all that bad. We shouldve had one goal. But something tells me that wasnt the best we`ve seen of Kuwait.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Bitoy Itawag Mo Sa Akin23 July 2011 at 20:24

    Kuwait 3-0 Azkals FT

    ReplyDelete
  39. I just don't understand it. Angel is walking around. Phil is walking around. Ott and De Jong are non-factors. Use your freaking subs on the bench. They provide a spark and an energy that was lacking on the field, even if they lack some of the class that the starters do. That was dreadful coaching.

    ReplyDelete
  40. sana minaximize ang sub.. kahit 15-20 minutes of play...hindi yung tipong pang 1 minute lang...pansin ko lang kasi tinitipid masyado ang substitution halatang pagod na yung ilang players natin..

    ReplyDelete
  41. 3-0 FT, World Cup qualifing over (like expected)........this can't be turned in Manila. But positive is that the team could compete almost 70 min....then no more power and got 2 goals. that's the difference on that higher level....even our foreign based players play in lower leagues/level...UFL league isn't competable.....and the 2nd goal was ridiculous...total avoidable. so in the end you can live with the 3-0. just give them a hard fight on Thursday maybe with a draw

    ReplyDelete
  42. Bitoy Itawag Mo Sa Akin23 July 2011 at 20:29

Cge lang better luck next time. Sana mag focus pa ng todo mukhang nawala composure nila nung 2nd half.

    ReplyDelete
  43. yeah, the players were very tired after about 70 minutes from tough fighting and heat.....the coach had to bring in fresh players then...nothing happened. even the players on the bench are weaker but for sure you expect them to defend.....that is our problem as we have not a squad of 22 -23 players where every position can be exchanged with the same quality. if a keyplayer is tired or injured th whole play suffers....that must be the task in the future to work on and close the gap from the bench players to the starting eleven

    ReplyDelete
  44. i think phil y. used alot of energy in the 1st half. he didnt do much in the 2nd half, and it wouldve been easier for him if he had a partner. and where were the defenders at the 3rd goal? it was one guy, and 5 azkals around him. one guy tried to pressure, but he sold himself pretty easy.

    ReplyDelete
  45. all the minors from the 1st round got beaten.....Nepal was demolished 9-0 in Jordan. Even high acclaimed Vietnam lost 3-0 and is as good as out. Best chance still got Myanmar with just a 2-0 defeat in Oman which is isn't impossible to be turned, at least to extra time.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Now, the only four unpredictable matches are

Palestine v Thailand (Thai leads 1-0)
    Indonesia v Turkmenistan (tied 1-1)
    Malaysia v Singapore (S'pore leads 5-3)
Tajikistan v Syria (Syria leads 2-1)

All the rest are over. No upsets.

    ReplyDelete
  47. ^^correct...those matches above will be still thrilling....rest is indeed decided....just for the honour of the home teams to make a good performance and say "good bye" with pride

    ReplyDelete
  48. the poorest loser was India....they had big plans and maybe even a chance vs UAE but 2 penalties and 2 red cards shattered their hopes

    ReplyDelete
  49. Sa tingin ko kaya yan ng Azkals kung laro nila tulad lang ng 1st half. Home game natin to maraming pwedeng mangyari. Pwedeng matalo pwedeng manalo pero alam ko magiging dikit ang laban kung matindi talaga ang gusto nilang manalo. Dahil kung mas malakas ang Kuwait sa atin ng sobra dapat hindi lang 3-0 ang goal. It could have been worst than 3-0. Yung last 2 goals pagod factor na yun at yung 2nd goal halong chamba na lang yun.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Myanmar vs Oman is not over. We can turn it around in Yangon.

    ReplyDelete
  51. LOL!! Guys, just face it already, the tie is OVER!!! We're getting knocked out on Thursday!!

    ReplyDelete
  52. its so hard for the Philippines to win the 2nd leg match on thursday. but i think they will give all what they've got. as well as Kuwait.. definitely askalz can compete and honestly this team is in rebuilding process and look what they have done.. more success for the azkals! go!

    ReplyDelete
  53. then no more power and got 2 goals. that's the difference on that higher level....even your foreign based players play in lower leagues/level

that's not the difference of the lvl, it is because of the temperature. dude, i do believe the player lose at least 1kg after the match.
ya i agree w u they are just play on lower league except neil is on the premier league. i want to ask you, how many asian league are strong than bundesliga b, spanish 3rd division etc? even the j-league and k-league lvl are lower than scottish premier division and belgian pro league so how about the rest of asian country? j and k league are the top league in asia since acl champions came from those 2 in past few years.
if phil converted the 1st opportunity the result will be different but i dont want to debate about this because it dont change the result.

you all are wrong or i can say know nothing about football, if think this result couldn't turn around. here several examples, liverpool are 3-0 behind in 2005 ucl final against ac milan after the 1st period but manage to fight back i the 2nd half to brought the to extra time and won the final on penalties. last season in the english premier league, arsenal leads by 4-0 against newcastle united but the result are 4-4 ends of 90 minutes.

this result are similar to the PH current situation, uefa champions league (ucl) 2004. i think its on quarter final stage. 1st leg san siro italy, ac milan 4 deportivo la coruna 1. 2nd league at riazor spain, deportivo 4 ac milan 0. it will be hard task to turn around the result but NOT IMPOSSIBLE.

dont lose hope before the end of another 90 minutes. ~_^
good luck on 2nd leg azkals. my predicton ph 4 kuwait 0 in manila hahaha. this is my prediction, i dont need opinion from anybody. make your own prediction as you please, i wont bother you ~_^

    ReplyDelete
  54. @ hmmm

You said, "even the j-league and k-league lvl are lower than scottish premier division and belgian pro league so how about the rest of asian country?"

You're the idiot around here!! You accuse of people of not knowing anything about football but you end up saying shit like the quote above?!?

I'm not gonna bother with any of your other comments, or should I say nonsense! You should just go to sleep already! FFS!

    ReplyDelete
  55. hey hmmmm

Don't try too much to blame the climate. That's what every international teams always have to get over when visiting other parts of the earth. More than half of Asian powerhouses are from Middle East region. So are you going to blame the climate every time we visit there ? PH is already relatively a hotter country. S.Korea or Japan for example, much cooler countries than PH, can play great football in Middle East region and that's called CLASS. If we can't handle the climate away, that's always gonna be a problem and we just have to overcome it.

And you're just being overly positive. What's the point of bringing Milan, Deportivo or Arsenal here? Did you really watch the game today? It's not only the scoreline. The ball possession rate almost looked like 90-10. Kuwait clearly showed us that they're several notches better than us. All we did tonight was PARKING THE BUS and giving long ball to PYH. Open your eyes and get real dude. 4-0 at home? OMG..

    And lastly,

"even the j-league and k-league lvl are lower than scottish premier division and belgian pro league"

Who decides that? Is that just your opinion ?

  56. DREADFUL COACHING! I second that statement.

    ReplyDelete
  57. "DREADFUL COACHING! I second that statement."

That's BS. Apart from maybe making a sub a little earlier, there's nothing more that could've been done! Just accept the fact that Kuwait is in a different league compared to us and we lost fairly!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Kuwait was better, no matter what. Azkals tried the best they could do but on this level not enough....just 70 minutes steam...sure climate is role, but not everything. I think all learnt from that match for the future and this brings the players one step further. we need such matches.....more matches vs. powerhouse from the Middle East, even we lose all. It will pay off somewhen.....then force the youth development, continue scouting Filipinos abroad and improve the level of UFL....so hopefully we can send somewhen a competive team with home based and foreign based Filipinos in the battle with teams on a higher level and maybe some upsets can be made (I not speaking from making to the WC, that's beyond reach I think for ages)

    ReplyDelete
  59. @ That's BS. Apart from maybe making a sub a little earlier, there's nothing more that could've been done! Just accept the fact that Kuwait is in a different league compared to us and we lost fairly!

Did you watch the women's world cup? All the substitutions the US coach made panned out with a plan, taking off proclaimed starters to put in no-names that worked like a charm. Weiss could have prevented the drought by substituting earlier, like when Angel left on a CART. WHY WOULD YOU LEAVE A PLAYER IN THAT WAS ON A CART AND WALKED AROUND THE REST OF THE GAME? BECAUSE HE'S TALL? He didn't contribute. And like I said before de Jong and Ott were non-factors.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Weiss went to Kuwait to defend a 0-0 scoreline.
Kuwait go to Manila to defend a 3 goal advantage.
    Game over Q.E.D.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Just think of this way, a little luck the scored couldve been 2-1 instead of 3-0. Phil shouldve scored on the breakaway and the 2nd Kuwaiti was lucky. Kuwait defeated Australia right? Australia drew Ghana last World Cup and almost defeated Italy back 2006 on a 1-0 score. That gives you an idea where we are on futbol now. Im not saying we are on their level, my point here is, we are no longer minnows in Asia. We are now on the futbol map.Im ok whith that

    ReplyDelete
  62. We're not minnows in the SEA region anymore. But we ARE still minnows in Asia. Even Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia or Vietnam are still considered as whipping boys outside the SEA region.

Don't say IF something was something. Kuwait missed a lot more chances than us, and let me say, IF we played a normal football instead of parking the bus, it could have been 1-7 or something. The fact that we had to park the bus and rely on long balls in fear of huge loss means we're still minnows regardless of the final score.

Just accept it. We JUST started. Long way to go to make the Asia and the World take us a serious opponent.

    ReplyDelete
  63. "Just accept it. We JUST started. Long way to go to make the Asia and the World take us a serious opponent."

Yes, sir! I agree with you. We didn't really do much on offense. Actually, we didn't do anything at all on offense. The plan was to make sure they dont score and then clear the ball out and hope for the best. At least we know now that we are capable of showing up for games and not get beaten badly. I also agree that we can now compete in SEA on the regular and "half-compete" against the better teams in Asia. The first 25 minutes showed the best we can do against a good team. It really is amazing compared to where the team was standing last year. I hope the Azkals can at least score a goal in Manila.

  64. Hello everyone.. I am from Kuwait and I honestly had no idea that so many people from the Philipines love football... and this makes me happy. If this was a basketball match, then Kuwait would have no chance :O)

The level of the Azkals is much better than we had expected... and the only thing that is missing is more experience.. as I thought Kuwait won the game tactically nd by being cautious. I was not too crazy about Kuwait's performance because I am used to them attacking more and playing direct. The match yesterday required caution and I think they played it smart. The Phillipines was a bit unlucky not to score... and that would have made the game much more interesting.

Nonetheless... it's not over until the next 90mins in Manilla... I've seen crazier things happen in football; if the Kuwaitis get over excited and attack too much it could be costly... I predict they will play it with caution again like they did yesterday.

In the end.... Thank you to the Phillipines for showing so much love to the game.. and it was amazing to see so many show up to the stadium yesterday..

Best of luck... and I am sure the Phillipines will not be an easy opponent in the future... with a little more experience and funding. The first step might be to qualify to the Asian Cup... and I dont think the Ph is too far behind.

    Greetings from Kuwait :O)

    ReplyDelete
  65. Greetings from Kuwait:O

It was unlikely for Kuwait to have played a very cautious game... top it all from the Underdog... Why do you think was that ?
was there any underground negotiations to have kept the score on a minimal and undamaging level, or was it just playing safe because Kuwait is playing with reserves.

Thank you for supporting the Philippines , We all know the team Azkals will be a good contender in the Future, as long as we don't take the a shortcut to Victory.

Hope to see you in the Philippines

Who decides that? Is that just your opinion ? "

just says it decided by me to please you.
why eiji kawashima transferred to standard liege after the 2010 world cup?. in june, west brom interested in him and he is interest to move to a better standard n lvl league but only if he is the 1st choice gk for the club. he states he couldn't grow up from the bench. why didn't stay in japan if h still want grow up as a footballer?

daisuke matsui rejected a move to return to japan and decided to stay with grenobele in ligue 2 before the newly promote dijon snap him

yuki abe sign for leicester (english championship) from urawa in 2010

shunsuke nakamura play for celtic (scottish premier league) for several season turn him into top class, some said including football pundit he is world class midfielder

middle east team is asian powerhouse, what a joke rofl. even play against greece would be a nightmare for your team. middle east team are strong maybe stronger than over half country in this continent but they're not asian football powerhouse yet. before someone ask who decide this, i'll tell my opinion.
italy, germany, spain, england, france, and netherlands count as european powerhouse. i would like to say portugal are there too because they're doing pretty well since 2000
hungry used to be but currently count as minnows, same as soviet union but currently russia stature are similar WITH SOME of middle east country in Asia. just because your country qualified in every asian cup doesn't make your country as a asian powerhouse. rep. czech , denmark etc also qualifed in many european and world cup in past 20 years but didn't count as european powerhouse.
im not expert about football. i dont people to says im right and i dont care people says im wrong. followed this sport since i was 7 nw im 29, used to dream become pro player but failed because lack of talent or no talent at all lol. im not PH citizen
one for sure, no team are unbeatable in this world. winning by 4 goals to nil not impossible but it will be hard task. good luck

    ReplyDelete
  67. @hmmm

    Wow you talk too much.

Why J-league players want to play/stay in Europe even if it's not a big league? Simple. Because playing in Europe makes it easier to get attention from bigger European clubs. They may opt to start off their career in Europe from Belgian league, Scott league, or English Championship etc, but those are not their eventual destinations. Hundreds of players from Brazil or Argentina go to Belgian, Scottish, Czech, Danish, Swedish, Greek or any European league every year. So does it mean the level of those leagues are higher than Brazil or Argentina ? Answer is no.

So you're trying ridiculously hard to define the term "powerhouse". Tell me now, if Middle Eastern countries are not powerhouses in Asia, who are the ones ? Only Japan and South Korea ? And we can't call any other teams "powerhouse" of Asia ?

OK whatever, go ahead with your own definition cuz that has nothing to do with my point anyway. My point was that we should try to get over the climate of Middle East region rather than making excuses out of it because we have to face Middle East countries every time competing in Asian tourneys.

Oh well, of course winning 10-nil is not theoretically impossible. And let's say Sri Lanka winning over Spain is not impossible either. Is that your point?
