AS THE local football season goes full swing, organizers of two events have decided to coordinate with each other to avoid conflict of schedules and to maximize participation.
This year, the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. and the Cebu Football Association (CFA) decided to coordinate their schedules for a better turnout of each tournament.
“We can work together. No problem,” said CFA Board Member and Eleazar Toledo.
Cesafi commissioner Felix Tiukinhoy earlier said he’s willing to coordinate the schedule with the other events, not just football, to avoid conflicts.
The two groups have already met to ensure there will be an orderly scheduling of the tournaments, which will both be held at the Aboitiz Sportsfield.
This is in connection with the strict rule of Cesafi prohibiting players from playing in other tournaments outside the Cesafi.
The Cesafi football tournament will start on Aug. 27 and will not be in conflict with the Aboitiz Cup, tentatively scheduled in the first week of September.
“Paunahon sa namo sila. Kung kanus-a mahuman ang Cesafi kay i-insert na lang ang teams sa Aboitiz,” said Toledo, who is also the coach of the University of Southern Philippines Foundation.
The Aboitiz Cup will have the Under 19 and Under 23 divisions this year and the champions in both divisions, made up mostly of Cesafi players, will represent Cebu in the regional eliminations.

CFA guys are just very good when it comes to publicity. but in actual work, A BIG QUESTION MARK. CFA peps, try to walk the walk and talk the talk. Accomplishments are not measure by what you write or talk to the reporters, but on what you have done to Cebu Football and the football community in general. Point to Ponder " THINK OF WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR FOOTBALL, AND NOT ON WHAT FOOTBALL CAN DO TO FILL YOUR POCKETS". This is a challenge, not criticism.
