Bacolod Football - 1st Javi Benitez bootfest opens in Victorias today

The 1ST Javi Benitez 7-a-Side Invitational Football Festival unfolds today at the Canetown Subdivision football pitch in Victorias City.

Vying for the top honors in two divisions – ladies and boys’ open – are 19 teams from different football clubs in the province.

Eyeing the championship trophy in the boys’ open are Cadiz Assosacion de Football Club, Jo Tankers-Bacolod, Don Bosco Alumni-A, Don Bosco Alumni-B, Victorias City Selection, V-Mag La Carlota City, EVFC-Boys, Talisay – Minulu-an FC, Colegio San Nicholas de Tolentino-Recoletos Talisay, Bago City FC, and host J. Benitez Football Team .

Clashing in the ladies category are the Victorias City Selection, Cadiz Assosacion de Football Club, V-Mag La Carlota City, Negros U-14 squad, Executive Village Football Club, EVFC-Talisay City Ladies Team, University of St. La Salle-Nursing team and La Salle team.

The one-day football festival is part of Brgy. 19-A festivities, and spearheaded by its village chieftain Carlos Quiatchon and SK chair Thea Durandino.*
