Ceres FC ready to face Global

Ceres FC heads for Manila late this week to face another powerhouse team, the Global FC, in the Jan. 19 quarterfinals match of the 2012/2013 PFF Smart National Club Championship at Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.
Right after their Round of 16 victory against United Football League champion Stallion FC, Ceres’ head coach Freddie “Nene” Lazarito said they are going back to the drawing board once again to map out their game plan.
“We will be ready for them,” Lazarito said.
Aside from the topnotch homegrown football talents from Negros Occidental, Ceres have on their lineup seasoned Korean players Kim Jung Mook, Yoon Byeong Jun, Sim Hyung Min, Park Keon Hyeong, and goalkeeper Hyoung Jae Jun.
Yoon, who made it possible for Mook to score Ceres’ lone goal against the Stallion, will not be able to play against the Stallion after getting two yellow cards in the Round of 16 match.
The Global FC, on the other hand, after securing their spot in the quarterfinals via a 2-1 win against the Nomads, will have Azkals’ Carli de Murga and Patrick Reichelt on their lineup.
Up against the best teams of the league, Lazarito said Ceres will just keep on doing what it does best which is to play a top-level game.
Aside from Joshua Beloya, also a member of the Azkals, Ceres have British players Peter Long, Danny Claxton, and Daniel Sandoval.
Even without their homecourt advantage in Rizal this Saturday, Lazarito said Ceres will try to beat Global and advance to the semifinals.*NAB
