U23 Azkals end trip to AFC qualifiers with loss to Cambodia

MANILA, Philippines – The U23 Philippine national football team ended their 3-game outing in the AFC U23 championship qualifiers with a 3-1 loss against Cambodia at Rajamangala Stadium, Thailand on Tuesday, March 31.
Despite muscling their opponents late in the match, the young Azkals failed to notch their first win in the tournament.
The Filipinos were handed a nightmare-like opening half as the offense of their foes pounced on their back line, which then resulted into a 3-0 margin at the half in favor of Cambodia.
As the game entered its dying minutes, the U23 Azkals shifted their might into full force in hopes of salvaging the match but their efforts only paid off after Fitch Arboleda's shot found the back of the net in stoppage period.
The young booters of the Philippines ended their tour of duty in the continental tournament, which also doubles as the Olympic qualifiers, with only two goals scored in a span of three games.

They end the qualifying stage on the bottom of Group G after suffering a 4-0 against North Korea on opening day and a 5-1 rout against hosts Thailand for the second game. – Rappler.com

    2. (continuing) and i don't think na irerevoke pa nila (PSC-POC) ang decision nila tsaka di naman sila ang gagastos para sa U23 azkals kundi PFF pa mismo

  2. yeah, psc-poc playing GOTCHA style. lets say that philippine has long way to go when it comes to this sport, sometimes guys you have to be audicious and you have to believe in your self, but the question is do you believe in the system of your playing style? this two factors is diverge from each other, leaving palyers half hearted. some asean countries are way ahead when in comes to this sport that includes ,technique, psychology, expertise, skills. some asean nations on the otherhand, had a very rich football culture even they dont have professional league, you can recognize them in the field. little by little philippines is coping the gaps but it takes a lot of time and money, but psc- and poc way of assessing sports in this country is a pure BIAS they dont consider factors that affect sports, this way of judging of poc-psc is simple, yeah. its an ALIBI or SMOKESCREEN of a corrupt institution.

  3. Just keep on playing and improve our system of play. When was the last time may U23 tayo that participated internationally. PFF, coaching staff also needs exposure and hopefully they change it down to the grassroots pati facilities to train. Mahabang panahon yan at least 6 more years I think if they do it right.
