First international match at Philippine Stadium kicks off as Global FC hosts Myanmar side in AFC Cup

GLOBAL FC plays the first international match at the Philippine Stadium in Bulacan on Wednesday when it hosts Yadanarbon of Myanmar in the Asian Football Confederation Cup.
Global coach Leigh Manson confirmed they will finally use the world-class, 25,000-seat venue after plans to play there earlier didn’t materialize.
“It is an honor to be leading Global FC in this first game there,” the Scottish mentor told Spin.ph on Wednesday.
Global is stuck at the bottom of four-team Group G with only a point to show, tries to barge into the win column as the reigning United Football League champions start the second round of eliminations.
Manson hopes his wards would be motivated playing on the grass field in the largest football stadium in the country that opened last July.
“Playing games in these stadiums motivate players,” Manson said, adding he has coached teams in the 50,000-seat Amsterdam Arena in Netherlands, the 50,000-seat Hampden Park, and the 60,000-seat Celtic Park, both in Scotland. “These huge stadiums are exciting for all.”
“I also hope more people come out and enjoy the games being played there,” Manson added.
Ticket prices start at P100 each.
