THE mixed team of Cebu and San Carlos City bounced back in the second round of matches yesterday at the girls’ under-13 national selection tournament at the Panaad Park Stadium in Bacolod City.
Team Cebu-San Carlos routed Dumaguete, 3-1, to ink its first win in the tournament with San Carlos City players scoring all three goals.
In the game opener last Wednesday, the team headed by coach Genes Layumas and Bracks Geines pulled a 1-1 draw against Bacolod City off a goal by Isa Carmona of San Carlos City. In another match, Davao silenced Manila, 4-0.
Cebu had six players in the tournament after they were spotted during the Philippine Football Federation Regional Football Festival last February in San Carlos City. The
six are Angela Torrefiel, Samantha Claire Toledo, Itsuko Bacatan, Arantxa Marie Trebol, Amber Villaflor and Alexa Ceniza.
Since there are only six of them, they had to be merged with the players from San Carlos City to form a team.
The tournament will come up with the list of players that will form the national women’s under-13 team.
They will be gathered in a training camp on April 23 to prepare for the Asean Football Confederation Under-13 Festival of Football on June 9-16 in Vietnam.

cebu players merging with NOFA players? interesting...
ReplyDeleteBakit dalawang FOF sa girls ang nangyari? I thought the FOF in San Carlos City is already final but it seems Bacolod teams didn't participate on it and thus they created this tourney.
ReplyDeleteI smell politics in here..
