Cebu blanks Leyte FA, 5-0, in Suzuki Cup

THE Cebu Football Association ended its losing streak and blanked Leyte Football Association, 5-0, in the Suzuki Under-23 regional qualifiers at Aboitiz Sports Field yesterday.
Cebu, manned by the University of San Jose-Recoletos, poured most of its goals in the first half with Rikko de Guzman getting the first goal in the 11th. Two minutes later, Junifer Ebero doubled the lead, while Agapito Bacla-an joined the scoring feat with two quick goals in the 36th and 38th minutes.

Junjun Pintuan sealed the win with a goal in the second half.
LFA is still at the bottom of the standings with four losses, while Cebu is still at third place with seven points on two wins, one draw and two losses.
Negros Occidental Football Asociation (Nofa) still leads the rankings after staying undefeated in five games, while the Iloilo Football Association is second with three wins and one loss.
Nofa routed the Negros Oriental Football Association (Norfa), 6-0, last week while IFA defeated Norfa, 3-2, also last week.
