ReplyDeleteCongrats azkals
ReplyDeletePHL 3 - 2 MALDIVES, Final Score after a 30 min overtime. Philippines will meet Palestine on Friday for the AFC Challenge Cup championship match on Friday. Congratulations to Coach Dooley, Mr Dan Palami and all the Azkals for winning a feisty and bruising match against Maldives
ReplyDeleteAnd guess who it was who scored for the win? It's no surprise Chris Greatwic! !! Always at the right place at the right time in the dying minutes of the game...
ReplyDeleteYeah! The Greatwich brothers have a way to shaping Philippine football history. We are going to the finals. Thank God for delivering the Azkals! Amen!
Deletecongrats Azkals! All the best for Friday! This will be the hardest match ever .....and also Palestine seems to be the toughest contender and team at this tournament. We need a very good day and a bit luck.....but we can make it. Again congrats for a good performance so far....hope the injured players are fully recovered soon
ReplyDeleteMaldives do not want Fair Play...and so they lose! Lol!
ReplyDeleteMaybe they can create a FIFA anger management program? :)
DeleteChris Greatwich also scored he winning goal against defending champions Viet Nam in the 2010 Suzuki Cup held in Viet Nam. Boy, this guy has a way to deliver the Azkals from the home teams like Maldives and Vietnam. Way to go Greatwich! All the best to the Azkal team!
ReplyDeleteWasn't Maldives supposed to give the ball back. Instead they attacked. Desperate much? No sense of Fairplay.
ReplyDeleteIt's not really "supposed to" by "rule", but sportsmanship wise it is an unwritten rule of football. But I guess if you play in your home turf in front of home crowd and game that matters, I think you forget about the other team and take every opportunity to get that win. I can understand their desperation. :D
DeleteJuani Guirado, Neil Etheridge and Stephan Shrock were both hurt. We needed players to step up and they did. What I don't get is Cagara went home before the match with Maldives.
ReplyDeleteCagara was recalled by his club for some crucial matches that will determine if they get promoted to the top division in Denmark.
DeleteOk, thanks much for the explaining the situation. Its always tough when your job and livelihood are used as a carrot stick.
DeleteOK this is a counting-eggs-too-early talk, but IF we advance to the Asian Cup, we will definitely get Iain Ramsay and Mike Ott, and also players like Kevin Ingreso, Adam Reed, Stephan Palla, Yuji Takahashi etc will possibly get interested in playing for the Azkals in the Asian Cup. Plus, there will be no stuck-at-club players because clubs can't refuse to release players in the continental cup. So imagine our possible squad in the Asian Cup! Still Japan will be too much, but i'm sure we will stand a fighting chance against Iraq and Jordan. And even if we fail to do well in the Asian Cup, getting all those wishlist players will definitely bring the team several notches higher level and will give the team a better chance in the 2018 WC qualifiers which starts from right next year.
ReplyDeleteSo this is a super duper golden chance and now we just have to beat Palestine no matter what. To end up as runner up might still be the best achievement so far for us, but it's just meaningless. BEAT PALESTINE, then the second revolution of PH football will begin.
AMEN!!
DeleteSounds good. Very exciting thinking about Asian Cup... But not so sure if Dooley is keen on adding that many new faces that could devoid the team of this found chemistry... Just my opinion anyhow.
DeleteLalabas na naman ang mga magsasabi na sasapawan ng football ang basketball. Please lang ha. Tigilan nio yan lol
ReplyDeleteYou just started it! Wrong move!!!!
