McMENEMY ON TWO-YEAR CONTRACT WITH DONG TAM

HANOI (11 March 2011) – Former Philippines national chief coach Simon McMenemy has signed a two-year contract with V-League side Dong Tam Long An.

“I would like to try myself here to help Dong Tam play better,” said McMenemy, who replaces Brazilian coach Marco Barbosa at the helm.

McMenemy guided the Philippines national team to the semi-finals of the AFF Suzuki Cup 2010 last year.

They were denied a place in the final after losing to Indonesia in the two-legged final that was played in Jakarta.

“What he showed when in charge of the Philippines impressed us and we decided to choose McMenemy,” said Pham Phu Hoa, the club’s managing director.

With five points from five matches, DTLA are currently second from the bottom of the V-League.
