13 Cebu teams join DRB football meet

THIRTEEN teams from Cebu City and three from out of town have confirmed their participation in the DRB Football Jamboree, which will be held from April 2 to 3 at the Aboitiz Sportsfield in Subangdaku Mandaue City.

The Jamboree is an 11-a-side football festival organized by the Cebu Football Association (CFA) in partnership with DRBSports.

Teams from Cebu City are Three Bros United FC, Don Bosco FC, Mactan, Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC), Melbourne, Convergys, Abellana National School (ANS)-Pomeroy, Blessed John Seminary, Innodata, University of San Carlos (USC) FC, NCR, Erco and Teletech.

Out of town teams are from Dumaguete City, Compostela Valley and Bukidnon.

Coach Eleazar Toledo said that at present, they are setting the limit of number of teams to a minimum of four and maximum of 10 for the youth categories, 16 teams for the men’s open and five for all girls’ categories including the ladies open.

Toledo said deadline of submission of lineup and registration fee will be on March 22 during the second coaches’ meeting.

Proceeds of this event will go to the PH U13 boys team dubbed the “Little Azkals,” who will see action in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U13 Festival of Football from June 1 to 6 in Malaysia./CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
