ORGANIZERS of the 2010 U19 and U14 National ladies football championship led by the Executive Village Football Club in cooperation with the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) are scheduled to meet members of the local sports media at lunch at Luxur’s Place in connection with the staging here on April 25 to 26 at the Panaad football field of the twin championships.
Expected to lead organizers today is businessman Junie Lizares, president of the host Executive Village Football Club together with his fellow officers and organizers of the said national event.
EVFC is also expected to present the complete Negros Occidental U19 and U14 lineups today, said U19 coach and former University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos varsity standout Warren Concepcion.
Lizares said the move to host the twin national events here at Panaad is a product of continued consultations among various Visayas provincial football associations coordinated by PFF Womens Committee chairman Mariano Araneta who has initiated preparations for this event with Cebu’s Richard Montyre, Dumaguete’s Dick Emperado, Lizares and their counterpart from Iloilo.
In this regard, EVFC has conducted training camps in both categories to select players who will represent Negros Occidental in the two-day event, which will be open to the public for free.
The national U14 champion squad will carry the nation’s colors in the Association of Southeast Asian Nation U14 championship in Vietnam this June organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) while the U19 champion team will see action in the AFC U19 qualifying event in October at a still to be determined venue.
