Cebu Football - Subangdaku FC to hold summer football clinic

SUBANGDAKU FC (SFC) will hold a football summer clinic from April 12 to May 14 at the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) football field in Lahug.

Two of the top coaches in Cebu City, Eleazar Toledo and Oliver Colina, will spearhead the 15-session clinic. Toledo and Colina are both licensed by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

The clinic is open to boys and girls ages 6 to 17, and includes membership to the club, a certificate and an SFC jersey.

Training sessions will be on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.

SFC was established on May 15 last year shortly after the organizers and its coaches conducted a similar football clinic using international methods.

Since then, SFC has bagged five awards in three different tournaments. To date, it has at least 50 player members, 10 of whom are sponsored kids.

“This year, the club is aiming to increase its membership by 50 percent,” said SFC president John Douglas Torrefiel.

SFC is one of only four clubs is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), which is required by the AFC.

Proceeds of the clinic will help fund the training of SFC’s 10 sponsored kids.

For inquiries, call SFC board members Doris Toledo (0922397 4194) and Bretha Villaflor (09228504507). (PR)
