Philippines Under-18 Team Face Stiff Opposition In AFF U18 Championship 2019 In Vietnam

The Philippine Under-18 Men’s National Team will compete in the upcoming AFF U18 Championship 2019 from 6-19 August 2019 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
The Philippines is in Group A and will face Indonesia, Myanmar, Laos, Timor-Leste, and Brunei. The top two teams will advance to the knock-out stages.
Christopher Pedimonte is the head coach of the team. He is assisted by assistant coaches John Paul Merida, Ramonito Carreon, and goalkeeping coach Anthony Albao.
“It will be a tough competition for us,” said Pedimonte. “But we have a balanced team and this competition will have a great impact on them when they return back to their respective schools or clubs.”
The PFF called up 23 players for the competition. The team held a closed training camp at the PFF National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite in preparation for the tournament.
“We wish the Philippine Under-18 Men’s National Team all the best in the AFF U18 Championship 2019,” said PFF general secretary Atty. Edwin Gastanes. “This will be a great opportunity for the players to gain valuable international exposure.”
The Philippines Under-18 Men’s National Team is supported by Philippine Sports Commission and MVP Sports Foundation.
