The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) today announced the official 14-player roster of the Philippine Women’s National Futsal Team that will compete in the AFC Women’s Futsal Asian Cup Finals, set to take place at the Hohhot Sports Centre in Hohhot, China from May 6 to 18, 2025.
PFF also revealed the team’s official moniker — “FILIPINA5”, which embodies their national pride and unity as they embark on the international stage.
This tournament also serves as the Asian qualifiers for the inaugural FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup. While the Philippines has already secured its spot in the World Cup as the host nation, FILIPINA5 are determined to showcase their talent and compete fiercely against Asia’s best futsal teams.
The final 14 players selected to represent the Philippines, now proudly carrying the moniker FILIPINA5, are:
“We have assembled a talented, competitive, and dedicated group of players who are eager to compete at the highest level in Asia,” said Head Coach Rafa Merino Rodriguez. “This tournament is a crucial step in our preparation for the FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup, and we are confident that the team will give their absolute best in every match.”
PFF President John Gutierrez expressed his full support for FILIPINA5, stating, “We are incredibly proud of the progress of our Women’s National Futsal Team. Although the team has already qualified for the World Cup, they have still been working really hard and are determined to prove that they too, are deserving to compete on the international stage. Their participation in the AFC Asian Cup Finals is a testament to the growth of futsal in the Philippines, and I am optimistic that we have built the strongest team possible. We wish the team the best of luck in China and look forward to witnessing their competitive spirit.”

The Philippine Women’s National Futsal Team, now known as FILIPINA5, will compete in Group B of the AFC Women’s Futsal Asian Cup Finals as the lowest seed, being 55th ranked in the world, and they will go up against world number nine Iran, 11th Vietnam, and 29th Hong Kong, China.
Iran is the only champion of this tournament, having won its first two editions in 2015 and 2018, on top of six international gold medals. Meanwhile, Vietnam is the reigning South East Asian champion, having won the inaugural ASEAN Championships in Pasig, while Hong Kong has participated in all of the two Asian Cups’ main draws.
