Philippines Open World Cup Qualifying Campaign Vs. Syria And Guam

The Philippine Men’s National Team’s road to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and the AFC Asian Cup 2023 China begins next week as the Preliminary Joint Qualification Round 2 gets under way.
The Philippines will first face Syria on 5 September 2019 at the Pana-ad Park and Football Stadium in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental. Following that match, the team will face Guam on 10 September 2019 at Guam FA Field in Guam.
23 players were called up for the first two qualifying matches. Defender Marco Casambre, midfielders Iain Ramsay and Angel Guirado, and forward Mark Hartmann all make their return to the team.
Newcomers in the team include defender Justin Baas who plays in Netherlands, and midfielder Yrick Gallantes who plays in Scotland. Goalkeeper Kevin Ray Hansen, who was part of the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 line-up, is also included in the squad
Serbian coach Goran Milojevic is the Philippines’ head coach for the qualifiers. He will be assisted by Hezirdan Ramadani and goalkeeping coach Milos Simic. Scott Cooper is designated Assistant Team Manager.
