  1. Wasnt Ian Araneta supposed to quit the national team after the Suzuki Cup, or did he change his mind? I wonder why they still keep on including the three stooges. There are better and younger players than them in the Philippines. And why is the other Angeles kid in the squad as well. He aint that good.

All i can say is, WTF!

  2. That's quite a shitty squad!! A 19-man squad with THREE GK's?!? Fuckin hell!! And then the three stooges are there!!! Also no recognized full backs, left or right sided and only one recognized center half!!!

With the way some players have played out of position the starting back four could end up looking like this:

Gener - Gier - De Jong - Christiaens

WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is a clear cut loss....

  3. Ian Araneta in the line up again after his much publicized interview that he would retire from National Team?
No different from 'Trapos'. Only in the Philippines...

You think all of this is Weiss' doing?! It's more than safe to say that he does NOT have full control with regards to who gets called up! Whether it be Weiss or not, you could probably expect undeserving and shit players to continue to get selected!

    3. isnt it his job as coach to select players for a tournament or friendly? if he doesnt have a say on who gets called up, then why doesnt he leave the philippines and look for a better job elsewhere? it will be his reputation on the line.

He might only have partial control with regards to squad selection. You ask why he doesn't leave instead? Well maybe because he's committed coach? I don't know.

  6. With this line up it is better if we use all of the younger players and maybe a couple of veterans. When I say veteran I meant Rob, PYH and Greatwich.

Also, no new talents since most homegrown/local based players can't commit to the national team.

Ian and the rest of the armed force players are there because they don't complain with the training. Most of the homegrown players complain about how hard the training and as mentioned earlier. They can't commit full time.

That being said, what's the option of the mgmt?

    1. Commit full time?? Nobody is asking anybody to commit full time because the national team isn't a full time thing!

Also, there doesn't need to be new talents per se, but players who haven't been in the national team fold for a while but based on recent form, should be called up now. Players like Burkey and Mark Hartmann, two options which are better than Araneta. Could've called up Jason Cordova, a genuine center half who won the Club C'ship with Ceres. Since there's also no recognized full backs, someone like Roxy Dorlas could've been called up. Point is... there are other options!!

    2. You clearly don't have any clues about what you are saying. Seems like all you do is check the Internet to get information. What won't you watch the practice and see for yourself how bad the stamina of those players you mentioned i.e. Burkey, Mark and Dorlas.

For Cordova, no disrespect but your are actually comparing international standards to UFL/ Smart Club Cship? Most of the individual awards were given to college students !!!

Btw, to give you an idea about full time commitment with regard to national duties. When the management ask a player to join a particular camp in preparation for a friendly and tournament. It means that the players should be able to join the camp and commit themselves 100% until the conclusion of the tournament. This is what is expected from the local based players since the standard of training/practice under UFL teams are still below par.

To give you a little perspective. Some local talents were asked to join the training camp but they can't since they have a full time jobs and the others were already committed with none football related activities.

      Know you game boy ;)

    3. We do have a lot of options but they all SUCK! But why Gener and Margarse still in the line up???

    4. Joshua Beloya won the best midfield player and why he isn't in the line up? Palakasan kasi dito sa PFF!

WTF! Yeah, everyone has commitments, even the guys in the azkals have commitments. Have you forgotten the YH brothers, and their careers, and Anto Gonzales, who isnt in the squad for this game, but he is a coach like one of the guys from GAU who got invited. But yeah, youre clearly overlooking that when youre talking about commitment. So stuff it ok. Youre the one who is taking information from the internet, coz that was mentioned just recently. LOL!

And i dont really buy your poor excuse of named players having stamina issues. One of them came from England, and are you saying that the level in Meralco and UFL in general is so bad that he lost his stamina and other abilities when he came to the Philippines, and that it is so bad, that he has a hard time keeping up with players like Gener, Margarse and Araneta? I dont really buy that. And Burkey, who has had a good upbringing in the US when it comes to football, that he also has lost it all coz he moved to the Philippines. Well, yeah, maybe we should leave out all the fil-foreigners then, or what?

And when it comes to local players like Jason Cordova. He isnt bad, he is a hot head, but i bet you he is a better option as CB than Jason De Jong.

I know for a fact that the management arent too fond of players with attitudes. Dorlas, Cordova and some others have that, and that might be some of the reasons for why theyre never getting called up.

Id even rate Arnie Pasinabo as a better player than Margarse and Gener, but i guess if youre not 35 years old, and dont play for one of the AFP teams then youre not really gonna make it. Hahaha

One positive thing is that Manny Ott is back.

    6. Haha surely you don't have any idea what's going on in the National Team since we already knew what was happening even n before things got out of the media. Poor guy don't have any clues. This was the main issue a year ago! This is why we understood why Weiss doesn't even watch UAAP/NCAA and UFL . He complains about the players lack of stamina, dedication and commitment.

You mentioned the YH brothers. yeah they have other commitments outside the national team but they are committed to join the camps and friendlies in preparation for the tournament. Maybe you are the one who doesn't remember why the brothers weren't part of the Peace Cup.

And yeah, You talked about players coming from England.. Blah blah blah.. Coming from US blah.. Blah blah.. Come on kid! You gotta start thinking. Their fitness level isn't the same as before and those guys didn't even play in the highest level. So don't tell me about fitness level kid. Without consistency in the level of training. You'll lose everything.

I really hope that the management will explain further to idiots like you the reason why we have Gener and Margarse in the line up. Their roles are different from most of your expectations. But don't worry, you will hear more news in the coming weeks ;)

    7. Here's my take. Firstly, Nate Burkey is too damn slow for the type of football we have in Southeast Asia and his upper body is pretty weak which was evident during the recently concluded Club Championship. Even the college kids from Negros were able to control him. Mark Hartmann, I think he should have been a part of the squad. He is very young and talented. Jason Cordova, he lacks vision for a center back and often makes unnecessary fouls in dangerous areas. Roxy Dorlas, too slow to play on the flanks for international standards. He still doesn't have the stamina. I think he is now relegated and comes in as a sub for Meralco.

What I really hate about this squad is the lack of defenders. We have seen this many times under Weiss and for better or for worst. He will stick with this coaching philosophy. I don hope that we get a new coach after the tournament.

With regards to the role of the aging military men. if they have different roles for the national team. They should have had put them in the reserve team. Not in the final squad. If their roles is to become role models for the younger players then why do we have to include them in the final squad?

What I'm saying is that if you need a sparing partners. Why put them in the fight card? Just my opinion.

    8. Alam naman natin lahat natalagang bias ang PFF sa mga taga Armed Forces lalo na pag taga Barotac yung players. Gusto ng mga Illongo na sila sila lang naglalaro.

    9. LOL! Looks like we got insiders here. Wow, you guys are my hero. Its like walking on the streets and hearing rumours. We have all heard about rumours, and about rumours that would be exposed, but it never happened. And i dont think it will happen this time either. So Ace Bright, please make it happen that Weiss will tell us once and for all why the three stooges are still with the team. Stop sucking dick, and just come out with the truth.

Well, Weiss might not watch UFL games, but thats just plain stupid and poor excuse that all of the players have poor stamina. Have you ever heard of a NT coach who doesnt watch games to look at new prospects? I wonder then how he spends most of his time.

Btw, i played a couple of years in the Philippines. I only have experience from amateur level in Europe, but even after 2 years in the Philippines and basically only playing games and hardly trained, i still had better stamina then the rest of my team, and i aint shittin`, it got worse but i still managed to cope with the heat when the rest of my homegrown teammates had a hard time finishing a full game. But hey, youre the insider, so it must be true that all fil-foreigners sucks as soon as they put their feet on Philippine soil.

When it comes to lack of defenders, Weiss has always had his own vision on how his dream team would look like, and if i remember correct he listed Manny Ott and Jerry Lucena as two of the defenders. Thats a while back, and in came Juani Guirado and so on. And we all know he likes to experiment. Im sure he already knows how to solve this issue.

Anyways, it will be an interesting game on wednesday.

Ngek feeling.... "know the game boy". STFU!

Yes, other options aren't that good, but you're forgetting this is PHILIPPINE FOOTBALL you dumb fuck! Practically all players suck ass!! A player like Cordova might not be that great but I'd rather take a punt on someone like him than persist with Margarse as a makeshift central defender. Same thing for others!

      Know the game boy!!! lol!!!

  7. Etheridge
Ott - Gier - de Jong - Jeffrey
    JYH - Greatwich/Uy - Angeles - Patrick/Calidgong
    OJ / Ian - PYH

This is the only combination I can see that make sense given the 19-man squad. Honestly, I wouldn't want to see this. I hope Weiss has something up his sleeves but if we based on how he rotates the squad we have a 80 percent chance of seeing this squad on Wednesday.
