Philippines Football news
7 YEARS !
I can see their point in wanting to have a home and away format and be able to play in Cebu in front of a home crowd, but they have to realize that other clubs, such as the Dolphins or Forza, can't possibly pay for the travel costs because they don't have the financial capabilities.I suggest they keep it as it is at the moment and since CQCU is the favorite for promotion to League 1 along with Navy, they should deal with it now and when they are finally in Div 1 they can use the home and away format against teams like Kaya, Loyola, Global and Stallions.
I think UFL should expand to the provinces NOW!
Not all the clubs have the financial capability. Not yet anyway.
Ito ang inyong napapala sa sobrang kayabangan ninyo. Segurudong tawang-tawa si Richard Montayre sa inyo. lol!
lol. @rhtk They've been pushing for it for a while. When you ask for these things, you don't go to the public to put pressure on the league, you try to negotiate cordially so that things don't get heated. However, the league heads can be quite arrogant, and won't do things until action is taken. I applaud CQCU for standing their ground, however it is unfortunate that the game was wasted. Hopefully UFL weighs the pros (huge exposure of the league in the Visayas region) higher than the cons (the cost of flying teams to Cebu, or helping pay for some of Cebu's flights to Manila).
If they were pushing for it for a while now, how come we only see the news one day before they play their first league game? They should have informed the UFL organizers months ago about their position so not to jeopardize the schedules of the league just in case their request will not be granted. Some people in the CQCU management are not doing their job. tsk-tsk.
I think the UFL guys are the ones who did not do their jobs. They knew for some time the predicament of CQCU and they should have earlier decided decisively not to include CQCU after considering all options.UFL organizers had all the time in last season (yeah, the whole season last year) to listen to CQCU.UFL wake up!
Each team in the second division will need to fly to Cebu only once in the entire league, so if they can afford to buy players left and right isn't 1 flight to Cebu very difficult, if it is, they should look at the other side wherein CQCUFC will fly to Manila 18 times this year and 25 times in last years season not counting the postponed games due to unplayable field, did CQCUFC ever default a game despite it being non bearing? This is what you call commitment, so I can't blame them if they would request for support, after all think of the over all expenses millions perhaps that they had spent last season? What did they get in return? Was it worth it, I think this is 1 reason and worst, looking at the schedule they don't even have a televised game? Isn't that adding insult to injury? But still hope something can be done after all it is not too late yet. UFL should act fast on this, it will be a big loss to lose CQCUFC from the UFL, we salute CQCUFC for being enough to join the UFL last year to represent the VIsayas despite the enrmous( millions) expense.
Do not forget to mention Stallions FC -- they also represent the Visayas.
how can other teams' financial capability be made an excuse to deny the request of QCUFC for some home games? those alleged to be financially incapable will probably be flying to cebu only once or twice. with the current set up QCUFC is said to be "supposed" to travel 18 times this year to play against other teams.
