US Virgin Islands blaming promoter for cancellations !

From a source in US Virgin Islands :

"The Filipino American who was funding the trip to the USA for us to play the two matches back out from the contract that was signed. I was told from reliable sources that ticket sales were slow and they didn't want to do it again. Everyone lost including the organizers, the owners of the Infernos, PFF and the USVI. It cost money to prepare and he and his company did not live up to the contract. The match against PFF was sanctioned by FIFA, CONCACAF and USSF."

Comment about Interaksyons article : "But members of the team did not get on flights originally booked for them by organizers. The team supposedly asked the Philippine Football Federation and the promoters to shoulder the cost of a charter flight for the team, a demand which was refused."

US Virgin Isl : It's not correct.......the flights were never booked it is publicity gimmick that there trying to make it seem we never made the flight. During the negotiations we ask for 50% of our appearance fee to cover our airline tickets. They refuse to send the money and when it was time to purchase the tickets all kind of excuses came up. Bottom line is the promoter made money from ticket sales then he cancel the matches. Only person who made money is the promoter and the PFF lost big time because they paid $100k to travel to the USA. Inferno owner lost big also because the promoter pulled out before the match on August 11, 2012 and he had to fund everything.

  1. Did no-one smell a rat that flying a full squad all the way to Chicago to play against two mickeymouse teams made no sense football wise or money wise?

  2. Agree!! They played in an area where there is a small FILIPINO community and they did not even make any advertisements about the games. How would they expect to have a large turnout. Marketing Wise and Football wise. DISASTER!

  3. Dan Palami is supposed to be a smart businessman. How could it be that he would get involved in such a predictable farce?

  4. The aim was for the Azkals to have exposure in the US against different squads, and not necessarily about the Promoters making money.

If it turns out the Promoters were rotten, then I don't think you can blame Palami for that ...

    1. Yes, Palami can still be blamed, don't be deluded!! He's taken his position as team manager to a different level. He manages it like it's his club/play thing and he's making out it out that whatever success the team has it's gonna be because of him! Total twat and glory hunter!! Therefore all these over the top and unnecessary trips and what have you, he just accepts.

They go to the US for a camp and friendlies against a fucking brand new PDL team and a half-arsed USVI national team?!?! Complete joke!! They could've just gone to Japan or even nearby Thailand for example and it would've been the same if not better as their could be better teams they could've played!

  5. The promoters probably just pulled out when tickets were not selling. I don't think they were rotten. Maybe they were losing money too. Anyways I think they were there during the game last Saturday. The USVI just does not have any fans here in the US. I am not surprised that the Inferno cancelled their game against them as well.

  6. This is not a good sign...Mga kapwa Pinoy pa ang me kagagawan nang kalokohan...Nakakahiya naman. Actually it happened to the PBA in Dubai...meron promoter na Pinoy na nag-promote nang game an dapat siya ang magbabayad nang hotel expenses.
Kumita sya sa tiket sales pero di niya binayaran ang mga expenses. Binayaran na lang nang mga players at that time ang hotel expense, refunded later on from their teams management.
To play with americans and to be cheated by a Filipino American...sory for the pun.

    1. Actually, there is also an advantage in training in the US and that is the facilities they have over there. Even big teams in Europe train in the US and play preseason matches over there for two reasons. One is the world class facilities they have and two is for their American fans. Azkals are basically doing the same thing using good facility for training and also for our fellow kababayans in the states. Why so quick to point fingers and also why many of you are thinking something fishy all the time? Shit happens in organizing events like theseand this another unfortunate outcome. The most important thingies that the Azkals are doing their training. There will be more matches to test them and this shouldn't be a big deal. PFF spent money for the facilities basically so no disuse of funding I see here either. No big issue really and no need to hang Palami so quickly.

    2. Don't compare mega rich clubs in Europe with the minnow that is our national team! You just can't compare.

Sure they may also have good facilities, but so do other leading nations such as Japan for instance where they could have gone instead!

Fellow kababayans?? Alright, sure. But just like the big clubs in Europe, they may literally have fans from every single country in the world, but does that mean they have to travel to all these places just to reach out to these fans? No!! You can't satisfy everyone especially with other factors involved such as money!

Sure shit happens all the time in organizing events, but this takes the piss! Going all the way in Chicago was a stupid idea in the first place, financially and a sporting point of view especially since they would only be playing a PDL club and a half-arsed USVI national team!

The PFF may have spent a good chunk of the expenses but it doesn't mean it was money well spent! Far from it!!

No need to hang Palami so quickly?!?! BS! Let me guess, you're another one his cock suckers. Too many people see him as this godfather of Philippine football and everything he does and says is like a gospel and therefore is exempt from bashing. If he really was a businessman and a proper team manager of the national team which had the best interests of everyone from different point of views, he along with the PFF would have said thanks but no thanks at going to the US at this point in time!

    3. Don't see him as a "godfather" and not a "cock sucker" like you say, frankly, I don't care about Palami. But really, must you use "cock sucker" in an argument? Truth is you're just one of the many who are so quick to make judgement without the facts leading to this camp. Perhaps if you could enlighten us fans as to what led to making a camp in Chicago then we can make accurate opinion or judgement over this. But you cannot present anything yourself and so quick to imply that everyone else is wrong but you.

Not even remotely I made a point of making a comparison between, let's say Chelsea and The Azkals. Read between the lines. The point I was making is that even big clubs such as Chelsea go to the US because of the world class facilities, and we have that opportunity to do the same and so why not.

So now you're saying that Inferno is inferior and that it was not worth it to play against them? May I remind you that the score was 3-1 Inferno. I don't think you're making any sense at all.

Heck why do you fret about this having a camp in the US so much? Let me guess, because you know more than others. If I were you, you should just relax and wait after the Suzuki campaign. By then you can say I told you so that these camps, decisions the PFF, Palami, and everyone else involve in the Azkals are all BS and that they should contact you to manage and take care of everything. Hahahahahahahahahahaha...

  7. The only promoters of a FIFA sanctioned international friendly are the relevant national football associations. And if the game is going to be played in a third country it is a requirement - never mind common courtesy - to obtain approval from that FA.
    It's irrelevant who conned who in this fiasco;
manager Palami has to carry the can for incompetence and outrageous abuse of Federation
money on travel for a team which will be playing only SouthEast Asian opposition for the foreseeable future.

  8. 9:37 anonymous you are an idiot. Phillipines just got worked by inferno 3-1. The usvi would have given them at least 5! Dumbass

    1. Dumbass huh... well you're fucking bitch!!

Can you even read?!?! As was posted, they could have gone to Japan or Thailand or somewhere similar and played even stronger teams and saved time and money!! Hell, they could even play that university team from Japan again, Kanto Gakui Univ. where they got raped 8-0 & 8-1 last year. With this half arsed squad that traveled to the US, they probably would have gotten raped by more than 10 goals this time!! Better than that shit you're suggesting of at least 5 by the USVI.

      Asshole!!

  9. They did a terrible job of marketing these games. It seemed like they only promoted it to the Chicago-based filipinos, instead doing a nationwide promotional campaign...Fans would have gone to the games...if they'd known about it. I don't mind the fact the games were the midwest, but they should have done a better marketing for it.

  10. The promoters have a very bad record/reputation in the PI when he used to do business there before migrating to America. Dan Palami was warned but did not listen or maybe brushed them off because maybe kababayan niya at classmate niya sa high school. But who knows what really happened. The name of the promoting organization is PE Capital Investments headed by a certain Eliseo Prisno.

  11. What?!
How could anyone be suspicious of an outfit with a name like that organizing a sporting event?
