Angel Guirado joins Indian Club
Spanish International Angel Guirado has completed his move from Global FC, Philippines and has joined hands with Salgaocar FC for the upcoming season.
The 6’ 2” Spanish striker has already put the finishing touches to a one-year deal with the defending Federation Cup champions and has been identified as one of the candidates who may score the maximum number of goals.
“Angel is a tall player with good physical presence and competent skills; he will give me lot of options as a striker” said Karim Bencherifa, Head coach of Salgaocar FC.
Angel Guirado was born to a Filipina mother in Malaga, Spain. Owing to his ancestry, he has represented the Philippines at the international level several times, the most recent being in the AFC Challenge Cup held at Kathmandu, Nepal in March 2012 where he scored two goals in the tournament.
Angel Guirado started his career with Malaga FC Juniors in 1997 and progressed to play with Athletico Madrid (2005-06) and Deportivo de la Coruna (2006-07). After having featured with Spanish 2nd and 3rd division teams he made his move to Global FC, Philippines in 2011.

How could a player of his calibre join such a low-worthy club? I suggest Guirado should've joined Malaga or he could move to EPL. He would never be remembered if he keeps playing in Indian league.
ReplyDeleteIf he played superbly in the first leg of the World Cup Qualifiers vs Kuwait, things would have been different for Guirado. There were scouts from Spain, Japan and Singapore in that match and they were interested in him. Unfortunately Guirado did not live up to expectations, even suffering from an injury after a Kuwaiti roughhousing.
DeleteSo yeah, Guirado was not the same after that match.
Yeah, Guirado was a broken man after the 1st leg in Kuwait. Scouts lost interest after that.
DeleteLOL, do you thing GLOBAL FC is better? It's also a LOW -WORTHY club like you label it....at least they played AFC champions league qualifiers and AFC cup which a Filipino club have never done before and will not do within the next years. And apart from it: do you think Angel would have a chance to be signed by MALAGA? He hasn't the quality to join a Spanish 1st division club....he even wasn't able to get a contract for a Spanish 2nd or 3rd divions club and chose the easiest way to play in Philippines instead. So he can be lucky that someone from abroad signs him....which will give him more experience
