A TACTICAL game that looked headed for a goalless draw got some fireworks in the end, although both teams still wound up even
as Stallion Laguna FC and Global Cebu FC settled for a 1-1 standoff in the 2017 Philippines Football League on Sunday at the Binan Football Stadium.
Locked in a tight match for most of the match, the two squads came out firing for an exciting endgame between the two former UFL Champions.
Shu Sasaki scored in the 84th minute, converting off a Hikaru Minegeshi assist.
Just when it looked like Global was on its way to secure all three points, Matthew Nierras came out with a stunning equalizer in the 93rd minute much to the delight of the home crowd.
It was a crucial result for Stallion after absorbing a 5-1 drubbing at the hands of Meralco Manila on opening weekend.
The Cebuanos on the other hand dropped their first points after a 2-1 win over JPV Marikina FC, two weeks ago.
