Yangon: Filipino side Global FC guaranteed a top two finish in Group F of the 2017 AFC Cup on Wednesday with a 4-2 away victory over Magwe FC of Myanmar.
The hosts had led at half-time at Yangon Youth Training Centre following a 38th minute goal from winger Kyaw Naing Naing. However, a late rally from a previously dominant Global saw the tide turn.
A Hikaru Minegishi strike and two from striker Darryl Roberts in the space of 12 minutes saw the visitors race clear with just ten minutes remaining.
In the 88th minute Shu Sasaki thought he had rounded off the Global victory with the side’s fourth goal, but there was still time for Magwe to reduce the deficit to just two goals as Naing Lin Tun scored deep into injury time.
Global now top Group F with 12 points from their five fixtures to date, with Magwe bottom of the standings with two points.
Only the side finishing top of the group will be assured of a spot in the Zonal Semi-finals
Is it Casambre who did the low cross from the left flank for Roberts 2nd goal?
