Socceroo, Pasargad collide as fight for Division 1 survival in UFL heats up

By Karlo Sacamos

THE fight for Division 1 survival heats up in the United Football League as cellar-dwellers Socceroo and Pasargad collide on Tuesday at the Emperador Stadium.
With the top teams on a break due the national team camps, the spotlight now falls on the bottom-half teams that are trying to avoid relegation.
Kickoff of the lone Division 1 game is at 7:30 p.m., preceded by the Division 2 match between title contender Laos FC and Forza FC.
Socceroo is running eighth in the nine-team standings with nine points in 16 games and is ahead of Pasargad by four points.
A victory for Socceroo will extend its cushion over Pasargad, which however, still has two games on hand.
Soccero nipped Pasargad, 1-0, in the first round, and is counting on Lee Jeong Woo and Diego Barrera to duplicate the feat.
